Using a walker with non-weight bearing status. This post-operative instruction video will give you more information about recovering from your surgery and any equipment you will need to use at home. Ive just come off non weight bearing thank goodness. My good leg was starting to object to all my weight on it!! I'd be taking pain killers for everything other than my bad leg!

it is. Gentle hops helps. my arms are there for a reason so i shouldn't just leave everything to my right leg otherwise i'd be having two broken legs!

Yeah I’m wondering I. Had a right knee replacement 4 months ago and now right leg bothering me. I just had an MRI. I’m worried I have a meniscus tear or something. How wold this work if I needed surgery as I’m. Still recovering from knee replacement. It seems like it would be rough to hop on that leg, as it gets sore just regular walking or too much weight bearing. Same with crutches.

I would do way smaller steps though to begin with. The patient in this video is tall and many patients are 5'4" or shorter. Eventually you can go fast but not at the beginning.

I can’t hop with a walker. My amputated leg just doesn’t do well with this kind of “walking”. I thought hopping overall was the wrong way to work a walker. But I am just learning as only a couple of months out from the amputation

Shouldn’t be affected leg be extended forward/straight, not bent as if she was going upstairs?

Carried backwards...I've just had surgery for broken ankle...12 weeks in plaster..and was told to bend it backwards. But I was told to turn circles in 5 or 6 smaller moves not a 90% in one go.

Ive got to do this technique after a fresh break for six weeks trouble is my ankle cast is so heavy! plus i need two knee requirements and im struggling to lift my leg then hop on the other leg if cast doesn't work ive got to have metal plate and pinned im 63 😢

Any suggestions for the hands and shoulders? I’m getting bruises on my hands and I need to be non weight bearing for 4-6 weeks 🙃

Get a pool noodle and cut it to fit handles or some black insulation foam(for pipes in cold weather) my partner just did this for me today. I fractured my hip on Friday, got out of the hospital yesterday and my hands were already killing me.

I’m legally blind and need to be nonweightbearing off my foot for two weeks the doctor doesn’t wanna even do the surgery because he doesn’t know how I’m gonna do it I’m not sure either I’m also quite large so I’m not sure what to do I can’t really use crutches my bathroom is really small so I can’t get a walker into it in a wheelchair again is not gonna fit in some of the rooms

Very surprised to see medical personnel using hopping as a safe procedure. You need to slide the good foot.

I’ve been using a walker like this with my knee behind me in a brace locked at 0-30 degrees for 3 days and I’ve just started having really bad lower back pain on the side of my good leg. What can I do to avoid this?
