I was lost with the bearing problems. After many searches, I fond this most helpful. Thank you for making it less difficult. however, i am still lost with this problem. A boat sails 30 miles north and then 40 miles east. How far has the boat traveled and what is its location from the start point? Appreciate any help

Why not 45 degrees man?!?! It looks like 45 degrees! and 45 degrees is a half of 90 degrees and 90 degrees is a right triangle.
