Yup that’s exactly how I do it on those Russel’s. 9721 and a new blade and it’s done Don’t even go back with the oem style motor

Think I’m gonna buy a couple new spider brackets that are deeper so I don’t even have to cut the shaft

@@restaurantrepairs yup or new bracket as well. I always save brackets and blades from coils I replace for situations like this

Shaded pole motors are often 55% effective, which means 45% is heat being added to a box. In a small reach-in it makes a heap of sense to use them. I understand that ECMs fail based on static pressure and lack of air-over cooling. How in the Hell do they fail in a damned walk-in cooler? No ductwork, no real restrictions. Fasco 9721 PSC motors for everything until the manufacturers figure this out.

Man I haven’t had any luck out of US motors primarily condenser fan motors 1/3 -3/4. We have moved away from them and ordering GE ball bearing motors. The sleeve bearings wear out prematurely. I mainly do grocery store refrigeration.

Talking with someone else today about that also said is motors let’s him down on the regular. Also love the “made in vietnam” sticker on the US motors tag. 😂
