Can you show us any info about how to see if free cooling is calling from the economizer? Also, in the west coast where it gets 135F on the roofs, how do you expect to get any cooling with makeup air coming? The unit aint designed for this weather
Correct. I go back after a day for a followup and actually service the rest 9pm call to get that dining temps swinging so they can stop dying. Monday we’ll go back with stable temps and see what she looks like. Exactly right point tho
Beer can cold... she's sweating. don't mind the kink. just a as tiny reduction in capacity. sad to say but , as long as suction is cold compressor will probably survive. its probably got a full charge. it's when a A/c System Gets a Leak & Suction temp warms up that kills a compressor. No Cooling for the compressor windings is what kills compressors & High Head / Dirty condenser.
Most Customers Have NO Clue at All !!! Had one customer put a True under counter Refrigerator & a True Under counter Freezer under a Counter. side x side. Wondered Why the Compressor on the Right side blew up !!! Both units stuffed under the counter. side x side. air goes in left unit - Left side , Goes out the right side , then Goes into Left side of Right unit super heated from Left refrigerator. So Right Undercounter Freezer NEVER Saw Inlet air temp under 100-110 degrees , 24/7 / 365. Never put refrigerators beside each other. 24" spacing min. between refrigerators.
"but also its here" made me laugh, brilliant joke, good videos in general thank you for making these videos they are very interesting and nice to watch
Another one down! Happy customer I'm sure! Seems like you were doubting your self Joe. Don't doubt your expertise, and repair talent. You ran through all the troubleshooting procedures great! Definitely not crazy Joe. You'll really think your crazy, when the New compressor is defective, and wont start up... Then it's, "how could this be"? First compressor bad, second new compressor bad... Third going to be bad? Am I going crazy? HVACR Life! LOL
Thanks for the kind words. I just like to share my thoughts even when they’re not good so that we all can see and understand it ain’t rainbows and butterflies. I appreciate having all of you here to talk with. Keeps me sane on these busy seasons 👍
I’m open to critique but how it “works” is it offers a greater charge to those units that have become “hard to start” Meaning in this case that compressor needs 70mfd to get it started. He gave it 70 and it still didn’t so he added a hard start kit and boom she’s running. It’s a shock start and if your compressor needs that, use a hard start to buy you time to replace the compressor. If you just try to run that way it always seems I find dead compressors behind hard start kits. The kits didn’t kill them. The kits treats the symptom not the cause. The cause is a dying compressor. So. If you need a hard start kit, you really need a compressor. My 2 cents
@brentgong2412 - a 3 in one is sized appropriately for the hp of the compressor your using. It’s rated in a certain area of appropriate power. Hard start kits are slapped on 1/2 hp to 5 hp units. They just zap the $h!t out of whatever till it starts.
I love a bad install. If you can’t help because of crap like this I let them know all about it and wait for the fail to do the correct install. Future $ on the calendar.
I think you're becoming like Kenny Rogers you got to know when to hold them and when to fold them. And I think you got to know when to walk away and when to run. And I know you're getting really good at that and I'm proud of you
So…… funny story. I wasnt positive if there was a schraeder behind that switch but I WAS positive there was one in the carrier port that they don’t remove from. So I removed my splitter to be safe and the the switch to find that there was NOT a schraeder core and it would have gotten ugly real fast.
I've had the worst luck with these new carriers. I advise Replacing the filter dryers with a sporland Catch all their filters are made in china and the descanicant Is falling apart prematurely
i've Been doing this so Long ... That i can tell over the telephone if i want that person as a client. Remember... Its a Bit like a Marriage... Pick one You Enjoy Being around !!! Life is Short ... Limit the Grief !!!
Ewwww. 😂. Naw I love different perspectives especially such experienced ones. I guess I always viewed a hard start as an “it needs a little extra boost” which if that’s the case your on borrowed time. But Mayhap your starting point is more educated. Appreciate the insight
That is sometimes hard to do....saying no, that is.....Keep the money....if they are to cheap for hood cleaning, payment will be a battle.....you have to pick your battles.....
Great question. There’s no “repair” that can be done. It’s overdue for a hood cleaning. I was saying no to the fact that I’m not getting involved with become the hood cleaners there. That’s a billable trip and I found other things that needed doing while I was there to justify the time.
Good video. That Condenser Does look a Bit Dirty / Plugged. That one Might Surprise You. i'd Clean it with Hot Water & a Little chemical. i'll Bet You Get Suprised. i've had a Few Suprise me.
