Salinental valley lies between Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster in Rheinland-Pfalz state in Germany.
SALINENTAL-Freiluftinhalatorium is Europe's largest open-air inhalatorium. It has 6 grading/graduation walls, each 9 metres high, with a total length of 1.1 kilometres. The salt water or brine trickles down these huge walls of blackthorn brushwood.
The brine has been used for spa treatments and inhalation therapies, above all in connection with rheumatic diseases, asthma or skin conditions.
Nowhere have more graduation works survived than in Bad Kreuznach. The beneficial salty air is omnipresent in the Salinental health park.
A stroll through the valley is not only good for your health but an educational walk through the history of salt extraction.
