Great as always, Tim. I usually do my crawling in the parking lot besides my apartment, and I've managed to caught the attention of some of my neighbors. They probably think I have a couple of loose screws. I find it pretty fun, though, being able to train unconventionally and baffle everyone around you thinking you're messing around, while, in reality, you're becoming way stronger than you've ever been.

YES. I love allowing my neighbors to see all the crazy ways that make me stronger. It also keeps them from wanting to borrow sugar.

Thank you, Tim. And I also want to thank you for showing us the importance of swinging/extending the arms properly during walking. I've become much more used to doing so, and I started because I remembered your advice to do so whilst walking.

Tim, thanks for this video. I walk backwards alot, just like a crawl backwards. However, I never really noticed that I was not swinging my arms with youthful vigor. Our joints were made to enjoy movement and I need to let my arms enjoy their journey. Thank you again.

G'day Tim, enjoyed your backward walking video. This concept first came to my attention in 1973 when I was researching a different topic for my Degree in Human Movement at the University of Queensland. It caught my attention though as at that time we had a Government Minister who walked backwards through the halls of the Parliament building earning him the title 'Minister for walking Backwards'. Totally forgot about it until about 3 years ago in a similar situation while researching a different topic the latest paper on backward walking popped up. This time, having given up running marathons and now engaging in long distance walking, I took more notice of the research. I first incorporated it into weight workouts and then progressed to incorporating it into walks through bush on dirt fire trails and bike trails. It is sill incorporated into weight workouts carrying 10kg dumb bells. While monitoring total number of steps every walk, after viewing your video I decided on my walk this morning to actually count the number of backward walking steps taken on one much utilized 10km circuit which offers a great number of opportunities to walk backwards, I was surprised at the actual count - total of 2855 steps, longest unbroken section was 255 steps up a 50 degree slope. Examples of counts in other sections were in smaller numbers eg 20 , 45, 80 etc up a variety of slopes from 5 degrees to 60 degrees (small section of paved path). Without yet counting backward walking steps on a number of other regularly used trails I know that the count would not be as high as today's as the opportunities to do so safely are not as great. I would estimate though that the minimum on any day would be approx 1000 steps. Acknowledge and confirm all your comments about feeling good and the benefits and safety of backwards walking - different strategies developed over the years re this. I encourage every walker to start incorporating a small number on every walk at own level , safely, at first indoors to become skilled and confident of ability. When venturing outdoors begin with a walking companion as a spotter and utilize the same tracks to begin with. Ignore the strange stares from other walkers - you know of and practice something that provides more benefit from your time and effort than they are gaining. Opps - I seem to be rambling now also Tim. Lose your mobility, lose your health and wellness

Looks like a scene from the film Tenet😂. All seriousness backwards walking is great, especially with loaded carries ( do it holding dumbbells if you still want the exaggerated arm swing)
