Born here, but didn’t move here until 95, tons of history here!!! We have one of the oldest working court houses in the US, also up and behind Sims’s Exon is one of the oldest churches around-200 plus years, John Wesley United Methodist Church, we have a cannon ball in a showcase that hit the building during the Civil War. Things have been a little tough with the COVID-19 going on right now, blessings to all and stay safe!!!!
I have been waiting for this one! Subbed in hopes I might see Lewisburg, I live on Thomas Street! I remember walking downtown everyday after elementary school, Thank you for this video!
Home of the WV state fair and the George Washington Inn, what a terrific little town. Best part is that great fishing on the Greenbrier River not very far away from downtown. Love to walk the streets and enjoy meals there. Just like heaven..........
Lewisburg is a lovely town and a very special place to live. I resided there for fifteen years, having to move in 2013 due to my wife's health. It's a shame you are using such a low res video set up; we lost much of the image on both sides of the frame due to lack of sharpness.
Lovely place. I’m sorry your wife’s health had to make you move. What was wrong? Where are you now? Curious to know. I’m visiting there from Arizona next month. We are looking to retire in West Virginia.
Nice place and small quiet town! Good nature and calm around. Watching the video it's nice to remember my staying during business trip here and Asylum hotel on 13:30 min on the right was a nice place to stay.
Honestly surprised no one approached you & said "you don't have my permission to film me" or "it's illegal to film me" or that someone didn't call the cops (or the cops didn't approach you without even being called.) I'm not even kidding. In the last couple years more people have been filming in public (though not enough people) in southern WV & sometimes it ends with someone acting stupid or cops violating the photographer's rights.
I love this town! I was a cadet at the old GMS back in the early 60’s. I have many, many fond memories of the school and the town. I was rather disappointed that you walked by the old GC but not the GMS/Osteopathic Medical College.
That was US route 60, across from the community college & North House Museum. & I've lived here most of my life & never heard of any protesters getting ran over.
Sadly, an inordinate number of malicious gossips have inundated dear Lewisburg throughout the last 30 years, spreading about a plethora of nasty vibes and making it less civilized than it once was. Perhaps this phenomenon has occurred in other small American towns as well. LET’S BE KINDER TO EACH OTHER, FOLKS! 🦋
