I wish l can visit Xiamen one day bvos my father is from Fujian China than migrate to Malaysia durring war time. What a beautifull clean City.!!He will very very proud to see this today.
amazing structure, thanks for showing the people "inside the wall" the real china, not only the big tier 1 cities, but also the less well known lower tier cities and small villages that just came out of poverty...these smaller cities are more impressive than the big cities everyone knows, it shows the life of average and ordinary people of china.
You know, friend, I was really touched by your words. Thanks for your warmhearted opinion. I will keep it up and try to be as meaningful as what you said. Thank you!💐
Thank you for your appreciation. What I want to say here is that although Xiamen is not a first-tier city, it is the fourth highest housing price city in China. The famous "BRIC" conference in Asia and the "98 Investment and Trade Conference" are held here.
I found your channel when i was seaching for videos of Shenzhen, now i subbed you, all chinese cities are so beautiful and clean, i hope i can visit someday. Cheers from brazil :)
Really impressive. I went there once about 7 years ago when such civil structure was not built yet. My father home town is 160km north of Xiemen . I visited only once.
I visited this city in 2012. Such a beautiful landscaped city with huge Botanical Gardens and Horticulture Expo Park. This looks like a zero staircase walkway. Thanks for sharing.
I like the spiral walkway. Great imagination and construction. We were there in 2009, nothing like this was there。 What a big progress in 10 years. I support your channel.
As a Xiamen person, I want to tell you that Xiamen's urban environment is one of the best in the world. It can be said that it is a city built in a park. 今天刚到五缘湾那溜达,山海步道我也很喜欢,可以挑战一次性走完
I agree with you. When I was in Xiamen 20 years ago I cannot even find a cigarette butt near the Walmart area even though I purposely set out looking for it. Walmart is huge but one thing I don't like was need to keep bags in lockers before entering. That was then, don't know if it still a practise today. There was two Walmarts then don't know which one ...hahaha.
@@Utube1024 Well, Xiamen was already an international garden city in 2002.But I was still living in the countryside at that time, don't know Walmart ,even don't know McDonald's,The world is changing too fast
I specifically watch your channel on my 55" LG 4K TV. The quality at 4K is eye popping. Thank you very much for sharing your journey with us. Really appreciate it. Keep it up. 👍👍🙏🙏😀
Xiamen -the city i called my 2nd home . i graduated from Xiamen University . miss you so much my lovely Xiamen (Amoy) . i hope you will cover a video about Xiamen university .
This place reminds me of Henderson Waves Park in Singapore... Wow it's incredible that Xiamen, where many Singaporean Chinese ancestors are from, looks like Singapore now with all the parks and bougainvillea!
Fujian is obsessed with forest steel trails. Many cities in Fujian have some trails like the southern ridges trail in Sg. I have walked the one in Fuzhou, called Fudao (福道) which was built before Xiamen's. Fudao really reminds me of Singapore but even better in my opinion (newer facilities, higher hills). I lived in Singapore for 15 years. If not for Covid, I would never imagine myself to be back to Fujian so soon. Miss Singapore
@@paladinzzy I searched for 福道 online and it looks amazing! Interestingly, I found out the same architect - LOOK Architects - designed both 福道 and part of the Southern Ridges trail. I'm sure the weather and the scenery are much better in Fujian, you know we pretend to have nature in Singapore but it's nothing impressive and it's always super hot xD. Hope you can come back to Singapore in the future, we are controlling Covid quite well now after a bad start. 我也希望以后能再去中国旅行!
From west to east? Is this the same as the bike lane in Xiamen? If different, can we ride bicycle there? Been to Xiamen 2 years ago, love it. Charming old area in the west side (+ Gulangyu) and clean modern in the east overlooking the sea.
Max, I can't believe that you are already travelling again. You just got home in Changsha! Your family and friends must really miss you but we are lucky to be able to see Xiamen through your eyes. This is a different view of Xiamen that I haven't seen before. Gulangyu island is what the tourists usually see. Xiamen was voted one of the most liveable cities in China. Have a great and safe trip and as always, great job.
Your caring words are great juice to me, dear friend. And you can feel my family and friends' feels, thank you very much for that! I will visit Gulangyu also, but it's actually not a must-visit place for me. I just want to discover something different. Yes, Xiamen is extremely livable, friend! And I will have a good time in this beautiful city. Thank you again! Please have a wonderful day!
So total hike would be 46 Km (28 miles) round trip? That is quite a hike. Not sure you can complete that in one day. How does that work if you want to do the whole trail? Are there hotels, etc along the way? Love the views and the video!
Oh, man, I will not do the whole round trip... I want to save my energy because I have lots of places to visit.😅 Yes, there're many hotels near there. Actually, lots of hotels all over the island. Thanks for your love! Have a great day!
There is actually an even better place called Singapore. But Xiamen is the Chinese city that resembles Singapore the most in my opinion. I am from Fujian and I have visited Xiamen many times. And I spent 15 years in Singapore. Both Xiamen and Singapore fit your description. Highly recommend you to visit them one day.
23Km long... :O and it's like almost all flat so you can go in with kids or even stroller. That's crazy long.. you didn't made the whole length in the video didn't you ? It's really amazing, specially the way it goes up by circle but is still super flat and not a hard angle. many many kids playing around, i guess you lucky and have some nice weather :D. can't do that anymore here, too cold for kids to play outside XD it's funny that most of the plate have russian names . Is this park have been builded in memory of theses russians people ? 18:30 the little ponytails girl who play with the empty can make me laugh alots XD. childrens really dont need alots to have fun hahaha. i can imagine during summer , this path must be super popular and the park beautiful :O. who got the idea to build a city like this in middle of mountains? XD must be crazy to reach the actual city. soo many tunnels. I msurprie that this city is that "small" compared to others :O specially with Taiwan just on the other side of the sea. it's like the shortest way to reach taiwan.. i thougth city like this would be giant :O i just noticed that many many cities name end with "zhou".. i guess it's a popular word XD. (or maybe it mean soo many different things that it's used alots) Thank you for the almost puke up-down view hahahaha XD. But seriously, this look nice, it's not ugly looking and it give people a way to walk and relax or doing some exercice and also allow to reach the park on top of the mountain without being super tired by stairs or hard nagle roads. very like this structure :D
Haha, Frank, I don't want to waste too much energy on a 23KM trail, because I have to save energy for other great places for filming. If I tried to walk 23KM in one time, I must be very tired and didn't want to walk again in the short time. I just live in the hotel nearby. When I saw this trail for the first, I was thinking that I must film a walking tour at here. So many kids here, which made this place a vivid and lovely address. ------- it's funny that most of the plate have russian names . Is this park have been builded in memory of theses russians people ? Those are famous scientists from all over the world. And Only one or two Russian guys. Yes, in memory of those great scientists. And the description are English and Chinese :) ------------ 18:30 the little ponytails girl who play with the empty can make me laugh alots XD. childrens really dont need alots to have fun hahaha. That's long still clip and I love it. I love to see her playing the empty can, and the sound of the can is soothing too...Frank, I have the same feel with you! ------------- who got the idea to build a city like this in middle of mountains? XD must be crazy to reach the actual city. soo many tunnels. Because this is an island city, and they had no choice...XD 382 mountains on the island, so they have to building many tunnels to make they city be connected in each part. You see, Xiamen is also called the city of Tunnel Museum. ------------ I msurprie that this city is that "small" compared to others :O specially with Taiwan just on the other side of the sea. it's like the shortest way to reach taiwan.. i thougth city like this would be giant :O This is the nearest city with Taiwan. And there's a tour service be very popular: to by boat to watch Taiwan Island....XD For watching only...Haha ------------- i just noticed that many many cities name end with "zhou".. Zhou is the Chinese character 州 or 洲. It's originally means "small land surrounded by water". So, if the place have rivers or sea around, it could be called Zhou..... So, zhou is huge popular name of cities in China, because rivers are normal seen everywhere...XD ------------- Thank you for the almost puke up-down view hahahaha XD. So it has some steady problem... I don't know if you notice or not, I was trying to run on the trail for some times...XD Frank, I was a little bit excited for the first several hours in this beautiful city, hahaha Have a great Wednesday!!
@@franktrinidad142 Watch the Chinese character zhou : 州 The 3 straight lines stand for rivers the 3 dots stand for lands So, zhou 州 means lands in the rivers....the original meaning. Zhou is typical Chinese hieroglyph, Frank.
@@WalkEast oh i see :O i knew some chinese symbol sometime look like little drawing. like a form of a person and some trees and such... so sometime chinese is similar to japanese i see. That's interresting to know thank :D
Many of the world's overseas Chinese have their roots originated in Xiamen city and the rest of Fujian province. Pretty obvious about Southeast Asian peoples of ethnic Chinese descent.
Most Singapore Chinese descent came from Fujian and Guangdong Province. That is why most local speak Hokkian(minnan), TeoChew(chaozhou) and Cantonese by the older one. But now Mandarin are spoken among them the young one.
