Really interesting and well produced. Having grown up on Whitmore Road I had often wondered about the tunnel. My Mum remembers Trentham Station, probably shortly before the trains stopped. Thank you :)

I grew up in Trentham during the mid 60's to the early 80's. To be honest it was a lovely place to grow up for we kids. Trentham Park was our playground and I worked Saturdays at Pimlott's garage, just visible in the picture of the demolition of the imposing three arch bridge which used to span New Inn Lane. I wish i had a picture of the old garage as I really enjoyed working for Harold and Stan, they treated me very well and helped me finance my hobby which was motocross, scrambling as it was then. I still occasionally see people like Graham C who lived in Werburg Drive who's dad oversaw the building of that estate in the 60's. I lived next door to to Campbells who built the new houses on New Inn lane next to the brook. Unfortunately Trenthan schools were dreadful filled with lazy teachers cruising to retirement who spoiled it for the good ones. Still, happy memories on the whole.

Great Video, I used to live near the embankment just off New Inn Lane in the mid to late 70's

Thank you so much for this excellent documentary about a rail line I never knew existed. I lived in Earlsbrook Drive on the Meadow Lane estate in the early 1970s and must have crossed the place where the line had run every time I went down Meadow Lane. Now live in Aberdeenshire where there are several “missing” railways which must once have played an important role in local life.
