Walking the World | Little Amal Finds a Home at the UN

Little Amal is a giant puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl traveling the world in search of a home. How will we welcome her?
On 16 Sep 2022, the puppet visited the United Nations ahead of the Transforming Education Summit and met with Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.
Amal represents the millions of displaced children everywhere and reminds us that education is a basic human right.
Since July 2021 the puppet has travelled over 5,000 miles across 12 countries. From 14 September to 2 October the puppet is touring all five boroughs of New York City.
Little Amal Walks NYC was produced by the Walk Productions and St Anns Warehouse in association with Handspring Puppet Company. Videography by Respective Collective and LOFT Films.

Thank you. So many don't welcome because they have no proximity to our brothers and sisters from other lands and they don't understand. Little Amal brings proximity to the people and she gives refugees a voice without speaking any words. ❤️

Little Amal's going to be up in North Adams MA this coming week where I went to college. I plan on going to see her with my Mom. She's such a beautiful work of art who sends a very powerful message.

I was thinking the same thing.. Then I thought about the person inside giving the puppet movement, needs to be able to breath. Not to mention; being able to see that no one is in the way while the puppet is walking.

I had the privilege of walking with Amal a week ago. It has made such an impact on my life. I see the women in the video crying and that is the exact same reaction I had. She is an amazing light in so much darkness.

Could you come over to Windsor, Ontario, Canada and I have been displaced by someone two years ago and now in a living room since and facing eviction even though my rent paid on time! Right to the landlord and I am not the only person they or other property owners have done,! I would like to do a press conference and release of important information about potential running in 2026 again.

We should celebrate refugees, especially the children who make it to a better place We should not worship a puppet an image It’s all paganism trick you from falling away from God, the real Lord, who brought the kids there We should worship him that’s a little girl was able to make it to America He is the one who protected her, not her self. What message are we bringing? We can easily have a feats even Have a Walk hand-in-hand with a reall Children, who came to this country That will be more humble and beautiful than a 12 foot demon We don’t worshiping almost like a God Or exactly so Don’t fall for this understand the time is at hand
