I love hearing the commentators being surprised by Messi, because at this point in his career, he's just a talented kid; not Messi (the synonym of greatness).
You're probably smoking weed or something. Messi football career has not been in balance. He has won many cups, achievements but has not been able to win the biggest one of all. The world cup. Players like Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo 9 and Ronaldinho are considered to be better than him. They have won everything football had to offer.
@@how5851 bro? zidane and ronaldo and these other legends had good clubs while messi has been carrying his club for the past 12 years and got to the finals but didn't win cuz of unforunate events
@@mohastop8198 So you mean that players like Tevez, Dimaria, Aguero, Gonzalo Higuaín are useless? These are world class players, what are talking about. France played the worldcup in Russia with a bunch of teenagers and yet they won it. You could count a few players who were well experienced in that team. Messi has been spoon fed goals time after time in Barcelona, that is why he cant make any difference in other teams. The same goes for Christiano. That is why they have been able to stand out so easily, the game is around only the two of them. Football is dead and is not what it used to be, where every player used to work for the whole team and have the chance to shoot like everyone else.
@@zaid9026 true bro, I think dubai is just making themselves popular with these commercials and awards ahead of fifa 2022, after all they have the money to buy any club in the world, so why not. You know it's such a scam when they literally have "soccer" in its name instead of football 🤣
Ronaldinho, Messi and Etoo is still my favorite Barcelona's attack lineup. They had more effective teams in the following years, but this one was pure magic.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi are legends of XXI but Ronaldinho for this short time was in another galatic. What a shame that his biggest opponent was he. If Ronaldinho didn't party etc. he would be best of all time :(. But team Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto is best ever for sure. Real Madrit had lucky with CR7, but lost a lot of money on Bale and the rest. PSG buy a lot of good footballers, but it isn't team, it is only 11 people with big ego. I hate Barcelona, but I think this team with this trio was magic. They were like mates who play near school for fun, not stupid overweening people like Neymar, Ronaldo, Messi or fuck*** Halland this time.
Back when both Real Madrid and Barcelona had not only one leyend each team, but almost the entire teams. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Beckham, Puyol, Xavi, Zidane, Raúl, Roberto Carlos, Casillas, Eto'o, and many more, damn.
@@pointyheadYT They needed Ronaldinho in some important games like the away AC Milan game where he made that wonderful pass to Giuly and in this game, but there are certain games when he was the one carried, in the UCL final if it wasn't for Giuly they wouldn't have won it. This Barça team was actually carried by Eto'o, Dinho, Deco and sometimes even Valdes.
Ronaldinho, Messi, Xavi, Eto, Deco, Puyol, Iniesta, Beckham, Ramos, Carlos, Casillas, Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul many more, What is this The level of legends here is unbelievable.
@@ifancyurmom Not just the Golden age - but the peak of peaks!!! I love all the Ronaldo Vs Messi later on. But hey this Real team of Legends, and young Barca team of legends to be...... Best ever!
@@videodrone4287 These were the times were competition was stiff and you couldn't phase out the best two players like in the Ronaldo vs Messi era. Players played football for the love of it and money was the second motivation.
No one is born with talent. It’s cultivated. Training, dedication, discipline, life conditions etc in vast amounts more than anyone else. Diamonds are created under pressure. No athlete is born with Talent. It’s created.
@@larryzeka5011 the reason some work harder and get less is talent :) you’ll argue circumstances, but no human is created equal. We are not, fully, blank sheets
When Your team had Cassilas , Beckham, Carlos , Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul , Ramos and the commentators say that your team is not good enough to win the match. That's what the Barcelona had then , Barca the home of giants. Could never forget this team
What makes messi the official GOAT is the fact that even though he's fouled all those times, he gets straight back up, no playing, no crying and no diving - Just playing the game of football
Most players in that era didnt want to dive... In fact even their teammates will be mad if a player dives. Messi was a young player here. If he dives i am sure abidal or puyol will chew him for diving
Let's be honest, later in his career Messi has started to dive occasionally. Not as much as Crownaldo obviously. If you want to see real hard men you have to go back to Maradona and Pele eras.
Se verdad me había quedado con Messi. Pero el plantel que estaba ahí había 4 balones de oro. Y jugadores que fueron de los mejores de la historia en su posición
Eto was the reason back in my high school days, when we got stoned and played our favorite “stoned pastime” (naturally FIFA 09 and 10 were the newest at the time) I would pick Cameroon 🇨🇲 when we did international matches. I won quite a few…although im sure the strain of week i was toking on helped with that too lol😂
British Football is no good.. i doubt they created this game. More like stole it from some colony. IF you are the creator of something, you should be also very good in it, not at the bottom >
@@AntonioGarcia-yb9mh I think all nations have talanted players. Its just from England, not so many. THats the problem. For a ,,creater" of this game, they have so little talants. Just see Uruguway ... they have more talants and are World Champion.... they are better then ENgland :P
Seriously this game, I just want all football to be this game again and again and again, just on repeat but different results every time, because let's be honest this many legends in one game is so rare, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo R9, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Carlos, Beckham, Ramos, Deco, Eto'o, Raul, Iniesta, I could go on, we were utterly, utterly spoiled and had no clue.
@@blezen4727 there is indeed only one, but there are many, many, many people who seem to think cr7 is it, therefore I have to make it ridiculously clear I do not mean cr7 in any way at all
@@kentuckyfriedchildren1650 Nah I think he was talking about Valdes having hair, because I think once Valdes went bald(shaved head), he stayed with it for the rest of his career. Oddly enough, he has a full head of thick hair.
Tbh it's probably a bad thing. I think the physical fitness levels are so high now that you rarely see big solo runs and play where a talented player takes advantage of less fit opposition players. So much money in the game even smaller sides have sports psychologists and fitness trainers. Back in the day there was more space and time for the star players to take advantage. I might be completely wrong, it's just my take. Still a massive football fan but it does feel less fun to watch now. Less flair.
"People say I'm the best player in the world but....... I'm not even the best player on my team" - Ronaldinho He was talking about a young teenager from Argentina and his name was Lionel Messi GOAT recognize GOAT CLASS recognize CLASS
@@liketobecalled Yes, at that time he was.......until Young Leo came to Barca and ronaldinho knew what messi was capable of...... because they used to train every day with each other and things 17 year old leo did amazed Ronnie......
@@mrpk188 Messi is truly an alien no doubt about it, tho u can argue that at his peak no other player could ever match Ronaldinho till this day, other than maybe Pelé, shame that only lasted 2 years
@@liketobecalled I disagree because MESSI peak year was 2012 and he scored 91 goals and had 29 assists in just 69 games.....and no body has ever scored that many goals in a calendar year not Pele, not maradona, not john Cruyff no body and in that season he scored 73 goals and he broke the record of the great Gerd mullar of 85 goals in a calendar year and there's even a Lionel Messi shirt in Bayern Munich club history for the player who broke this record......so that would be the greatest year of a player in football history
He was lightning fast and totally stole the show.. players close ups and their stunned reactions witnessing the phenomenon unfolding makes this unforgettable.
Seppi ... well, they've had previous run-ins as well: "He helped save [Barcelona C] from the relegation zone of the Tercera División, scoring five goals in ten games, including a hat-trick in eight minutes during a Copa del Rey match while man-marked by Sevilla's Sergio Ramos." ;-)

I watched this game live. Messi was a freaking monster at 17. I don’t want to compare, but at 17 he did whatever he wanted. He had so much personality by being super quiet. It is such a shame his career has been so fast even if I have enjoyed him so much. I wish he could play forever. He was 17... I still cannot believe it.
I watched this game too. He wasn't a monster at 17. He was an incredibly good player. But he wasn't scoring loads of goals or making a lot of assists. But he was an incredible talent. He revealed himself to us in moments over the next few years.
@Alex Borms There's an interview in which Messi talks about shirt swapping after matches ... he says that the only shirt he has ever asked for is Zidanne after this match, LEGENDARY STUFF!!
Messi is undoubtedly the G.O.A.T, he started his career with excellent pace, finishing and dribling and later when his pace began to decline he greatly developed his passing, free kicks and overall playmaking.
Cruyff would slap him around with his own socks. Get over your fanboyism. You don't have to have seen a greater player to know they existed. Do some research.
Once in a lifetime, there are a handful of exceptionally talented people who come around. Lionel Messi is “All” of them put together. Legend doesn’t even come close.. 🥇⚽️🥇⚽️🥇⚽️🥇⚽️
What a legendary lineup from both teams: Ronaldo, Beckham, Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Raul, Robinho, Ramos, Casillas, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Etoo, Puyol, Deco... And yet the young teenager was the best of them all
He wasn't better than Ronaldinho, no one was that year. He single handedly carried them to a Champions League title that year. (btw he also scored 2 goals in this match in the video)
Are you serious? Why do you think they fauled him so much? Or why Carlos didn't even want to try to outrun him but immediately placed himself in his path to faul him? They knew what he is capable of. They didn't let him run with the ball or get more than 2 touches. They have shown respect to him by keeping him closed up.
@@alecbutcher4508 yh but he's talking about like how when cr7 and Messi played. It was mainly about cr7 vs Messi. Like people used to just watch barca vs Madrid because of cr7 vs Messi. But in this game there was legends everywhere
Being a rookie has no effect on finishing. It has an effect on turning up at the right times and scoring a penalty in a world cup final. But it was an insane shot... but if you look, RM defenders and GK stop caring about the play after the whistle blows.
@@Sky-wo1lt yeah i mean both of them were monsters at that age no one can compare to young messi and ronaldo they were destroying everything and everyone
@Labib Ahmed ive also watch both ballers but everyone should know that messi is and have been better. One season doesnt describe a player especially when everyone says that he is having a bad season but still breaking records such as passing pele in most club goals.
I know Messi was great in this game for his age but it’s so interesting to see the insane amount he’s improved from follower to Ronaldinho and Eto and now he is just impeccable.
It's true that I can see many plays that he would have finished better in the following years, but tbh, he was only second to Dinho and Etoo for that year. The next year he was already the star of the team (Dinho was already on his way out. He barely showed up at the training sessions)
Just goes to show what kind of monster Ronaldinho was at the time when even that didn't phase him, guy was too elusive, even better than Messi in his prime.
@@DiscplineCraft I'm not saying he's had a greater career than Messi, because that's clearly not true, the guy had mental issues. But at his peak he was better than anyone in history by a large margin and I stand by that. I myself am a manchester united fan who hated both of them. I saw pretty much all premierleague, champions league and world cup games since 2002 live on TV and I've never ever seen a player come close to the dominance Ronaldinho displayed
Legends all over the pitch, but I have to say that Xavi played a lot, really. It was a player a little bit shaddowed by others, but he was truly magnificent, I don't think he received all the credit he deserved. Such a complete and competitive footballer!
He started playing football in this messi way when he is 3, he plays in this same messi way even today at 34. The world of football have not find a way to stop him instead it evolves. The growth this sports football made under his influence is unimaginable unthinkable unbelievable. Every man and women should realize it and appreciate it. He has done that much. ❣️ My love
For real! But don’t forget Ronaldo! R9 is pretty much in every top 5 goat list. He was probably the best dude on the field that day. And Iniesta! Another goat.

This was peak football. No mbappe haaland vinicius etc will come close to this level. Zidane beckham roberto carlos Ronaldinho ronaldo9 raul eto robinho xavi puyol... And a young messi outshining them all
Haters of Messi have just one thing to say, ur team lost 8-2 to Bayern and nobody talks that how Madrid and Juventus both were kicked out of the CL by an underdog team of Ajax. Also from the past 2 years we lost to a team where both of them were phenomenal and won the CL.
underrated comment tho..... yeah the fact that no one talks about that the underdogs beats two of the most big teams IN one champions league tournament😅😅
@TheGiorgi7 Messi does have international trophies and he can’t do everything on his own and you can’t blame Messi for the 4-1 loss he literally put a plate for griezmann and dembele to score and they both bottled their chances and messi scored the only goal for barca
