There was a free opera performance in Central Park that night and Eric Conrad called up Nelson to invite him along. Nelson joined Eric and Hapi Phace and recorded highlights from the evening. Video by Nelson Sullivan
His love for New York is so contagious. People used to love the crap out of New York back then even with the crime and drugs. Today it might be cleaner, but is packed with people to the brim and nobody loves it like back then. It's a beautiful time capsule before Giuliani and 9/11 happened and put a horrible taste in people's mouths. The only people buying those "l Love New York" shirts now are foreign tourists and people ironically...
Thank you. I so wanted to go back in time and take that Little Orphan Annie game so I could see that too. I love how that stuff was just dumped out and they found it and could enjoy themselves with it. The whole atmosphere felt so free - walking around, filming, with even the parents of the kids not minding, going around the park, meeting that man and his daughter (I wonder how many other Nelson videos he was in). Just a lovely mood. I am so grateful to be seeing these - Nelson makes you feel like you're with him and in that point of time, not watching 30 years later. What a gift.
New York has changed so much. It now inhabits boring characters. Look at all these beautiful happy people without cell phones and taking selfies. Just a video camera filming real people. What happened....
@@SmithMrCorona New York is an absolute shithole today. Most of the beautiful buildings have been gentrified and are barely affordable. Not to mention that Cuomo is an abomination who has ruined the city. You can have it, there are no more interesting people left...just the homeless and lunatic socialist Democrat anarchists. Enjoy!
That Laverne & Shirley board game is worth about $75 bucks today if it's got all the pieces and everything is in excellent condition. I got intrigued by it and decided to look it up.
Who's the dad of that baby? Maybe she would like to know that she's in a Nelson's video, and with his dad. He looks so young and now he is like 60 y.o approx. and she 30/31. Time flies...
I graduated HS 2 days later. This is great because I wanted to go to NY so bad after I grad. Alas life happens I still haven't. But here I can just a little, and NY is so different now.
