Informative video, most people dont show this part of town only filming the Riverside area which is the destination for tourists so its good to see the town itself where most residents live and work.
Thank you so much. I used to live in Kampot. I loved it so much!!! Thank you for making this video of where I used to walk. I used to live on one of The streets you filmed. The Billabong
Your Khmer insight puts your video head and shoulders above the rest. Really well done, too, with especially helpful subtitles. I'm so glad your presentation popped up on my search results for Kampot. I will be subscribing. Thank you.
Thank you for this excellent video. No blarring, distracting or overpowering music, and lots of concise, informative commentary! (I watch every video relating to Kampot that I can find, and am planning an extended visit there when I retire in a little over a year).
MAGIC - VERY good production - I love that you told us the day of the week and time of day - helps me form a impression - I there early Sept- THKS and CHEERS
Kampot is an ideal spot for retirement. It's not too hot because of the breeze from the ocean and it has international restaurants and bars by the riverside. It has pretty much of everything you need. Less traffic, more lay back. The good beach is about 2 hours away.. The cost of living i think is lower than in the big cities. In Phnom Penh for 2 bedroom apartment, very nice one which we rent it for $200 a month. Wifi $15 a month.
Dont live in the Riverside area unless you like noise as unfortunately lots of so called girlie bars have opened, refugees fron Sihanoukville I was told, this is new as the last time I visited ,before Match/April this year, there were a few bars but just normal not full of women looking to make money .During the day it isnt a problem but it can get noisy at night.
Problems in Kampot are -garbage/rats obviously the 2 go together, wild dogs esp.at night as street lighting isnt good and finally moto.drivers who are everywhere, again worse at night because of the lighting situation. Having said that the people are friendly and that helps a lot-the situation I described above is the same in any town in Cambodia, not especially Kampot.
