Just like prehistoric planet, they could had made an awesome documentary with accurate models and off course, without that narration.

I can't dislike a film for the line "I think I stepped in some fear".

Middle finger to the executives at 20th Century Fox for the matter. Feels like they never know shite about anything sensible about knowing dinosaurs for science.

It shouldn't had been a kids movie with those cringy narrations, it a shame that this movie nailed the cgi, visual beauty and all and could had been a worldwide documentary hit

Well, you see, Ostarfrikosaurus is thought to be related to the spinosaurs, as a basal member, while troodon was thought to be its own thing when in reality, it was the young of a dinosaur related to charcaradontasaurus.

Let me guess. It was originally a pachyrhinosaurus. Then everyone thought it was a sinoceratops. So they changed it into a sinoceratops.

@@patricklee5239 At least it isn't as bad as the Jurassic Fight Club "Pachyrhinosaurus". Why would Pachyrhinosaurus even be on Isla Nublar anyway? Pachyrhinosaurus is associated with cold climates, so it seems weird to put it in a tropical island.

In his review of this movie, RickRaptor105 even pointed out that the Troodon's eyes look like they'd pop out if you squeezed it. XD

There's a common problem I see even in good documentaries where people somehow shrinkwrap feathers themselves. They make the feathers scraggly and thin and appear to have no actual function. They always contour with the shape of the animal's body, even though fully feathered dinosaurs were the same as birds in that the feathers were so thick and so puffy that they actually altered the perceived shape of the animal. What is common with this trope, as well, is to make every featherless part of the body scaly even though many dinosaurs would also have fleshy parts. In particular, maniraptors are usually depicted as having scales ONLY on the feet, as that is what we see in birds which are a type of maniraptor. To this day PP is the only documentary I've seen to completely avoid shrinkwrapped feathers. This isn't to saw ALL dinosaurs had fluffy coats like this. I am sure some of them had thin and scraggly coats. But those would be dinosaurs with scattered feathers, not ones with full coats like in troodontids. At least, so far that seems to be the case. Maybe someday we'll find an exception. But today, even with more sparsely feathered birds, the coats have multiple thick layers that change the contour of the animal greatly and are only thin and useless looking in certain areas. And in the past, it seems to have been the same. I'll accept this weird shrinkwrapped feather look with something huge like deinonychus, but not a small animal that has no reason to have such pathetic feathers.

I find it an amusing coincidence that “Prehistoric Planet” is agreed to be a proper spiritual successor to “Walking With Dinosaurs”, while the WWD movie was panned as a disgraceful in-name-only adaptation… until it was reworked into a new film called “Walking With Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D”.

I hope that, if they do, they don’t repeat the same mistakes of this movie.

From what I understand, grass evolved in the cretaceous in China, but did not become so widespread until the cenozoic. It seems to be an ongoing debate.

Nice to see I am not the only one who noticed that, especially when both “Walking With Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D” and Episode 4 of “Prehistoric Planet” involve many of the same animals from Late Cretaceous Alaska.

That explains the beautiful and realistic graphics. I've noticed every other animation company seems to think that realistic animals are unappealing or too unexpressive, but I highly disagree. I love seeing realistic animals even in unrealistic situations. It only takes small modifications to their anatomy to make them expressive. Like in this movie's case where it makes their eyes bigger and their lips a bit more malleable, and that's basically it. And it works perfectly. It's not uncanny and it's great to look at. Unfortunate that the storytelling was botched by the dubbing and the constant pauses.
