I am with these kids. This also shows how the new generation of Americans will be different than their ancestors. This is how the country was founded and how it was shaped throughout years and now the US is changing and evolving once again. These right wing students are different but they do not speak for American young people. These are malcontents who support anti-democratic, theocratic, homophobic, antisemitic, anti-Hinduism, anti-Buddhism, anti-Christian, misogynisitic groups.
Remember that these movements occur in the shadow of the civil rights and Vietnam war protests. It’s a harsh truth that rights are fought for, not given.

@@metricblu No they are not they prevented other students to do their work in peace and now possibly ruin their graduation. It’s the opposite of civil rights. They chant intifada which means war with Israel and does not equal a peace protest. Maybe you are confused because they chant ceasefire but then shout intifada which means war.
Law-abiding companies and individuals have the right to have business and working relationships with Israel. Students only have the right to call for a boycott, not the right to request a boycott.

Students protesting on campus have hindered the school's teaching activities as well as the learning of other students who did not participate in the protests. So is it right or wrong for students to protest on campus?
On the other hand the faculty of Columbia believe the protest are valuable lessons to stand up for peace, Justice, human rights and the US law which prohibit use of the tax payers’ money to support countries that violate human rights.

The Government's foreign policy towards Israel has always remained unchanged in both parties and in any Government cabinet, so student protests are only an expression of opinion and do not change policy government diplomacy.
Students have the right to protest against the Government's foreign policy, but they are not allowed to protest on campus and must comply with the law. This is a good time for the Government to weed out students who do not comply with the law.

Why not protest for release of hostages and there would be peace. Students should study issues and history. Freedom means democracy with dissent and free speech within Gaza and the west bank.
