I actually live in Bath Beach Brooklyn. I’m very close to Bay Ridge and the 95th Street station on the R train since I live up the block from the B8 on Cropsey Avenue. I do also live by the Verrazano Bridge close to Staten Island where my grandma is currently living now, used to live in New Jersey
At the south end of the platform, the tracks continue for approximately 100 or so feet. That's because, in 1924, the New York City Board Of Transportation wanted to connect Brooklyn's 4th Avenue Line with the Saint George Terminal of the SIRT. Of course, the connection was never completed because the money wasn't there to do so, so the construction efforts ceased..
