27:24 Mary hugging her mic stand when there's no one in the room to cuddle with (not even the cats) is one of the most adorable things I've seen in a long time. Never stop being you, Mary. Beautiful inside and out!

Wall-e is straight up an animation masterpiece. Its remarkable the amount of personality they managed to portray in these robot characters which are all just basic geometric shapes.

Personally I find her accent enchanting and her laugh absolutely adorable.

The glitch Wall-E develops in his programing allows him to repair himself and as a result, outlast all the other recycling robots. ------- The need to repair himself also leads to him developing a need to collect various items that might be deemed useful. ------- It's this item collection over time that leads to the Wall-E personality that we meet at the start of the movie. -------- The writers are so smart in this movie, they make Wall-E's flaw become his strongest asset.

One of the greatest movies ever made. Perfect.

Part of the animation study developed at Disney is to give inanimate objects personality and make you care for them. Pixar has taken this concept and made it into an art form. YOu feel it from the logo animation at the start of every movie when the lamp draws you into their world.

I saw this at the cinema with this girl I was oh so in love with. I couldn't watch it for years after we broke up and had half convinced myself that I only thought it was that good because of the context I watched it in. I'd even got her plushies of the two main characters which were sat holding hands on the top of her TV. Anyway I finally watched it again and as it turns out it's a pretty fantastic film.

This is peak Pixar. The dialogue is limited, and yet it evokes a huge emotional response, both for the love story and the social commentary. It's brilliant.

Watch the Credits, I love that rebuilding / art sequence. Such a hopeful future portrayed there. Also, the Pixar short "Burn-E" - is wonderful. As for another animated move try "Kubo and the two strings"

Wall-E is one of those "so cute it hurts" kind of movies! That is why we shed tears. Total props to the creators.

It's weird seeing actual non-CGI humans in this too,* implying that the fatty blobs of people on those floating lounge chairs _used_ to look like that but because of generations of inactivity have become actual blobs. This is also one of the few Pixar movies that has a lot of existing music in it, like from the musicals that WALL-E watches. I had forgotten how good this movie was. * I think this is the one and only Pixar movie to do that.

I love that Sigourney Weaver is the voice of the ship's computer. This is an example of celebrity voice acting that seems just right.

Wall-E is up there, one of my all-time favourite animated movies/characters

When this originally came out in ‘08, my boss at the time was an ex-pro hockey player, a really tough guy. Good person, good boss, but *not* the kind of person you’d expect to get emotional at any film, let alone a Pixar movie. He said it had him teary eyed, though.

Yeah... Pixar always knew how to make an adult cry. If you want to watch some another special and great movies from Pixar, I highly recommend you to watch Coco, Luca, Soul, Finding Nemo, Inside Out, Ratatouille, Up or the newsest one Turning Red. Pixar is just the best storyteller! :)

I originally saw Wall-E in theaters with my wife and never thought much of it. I thought the animation was superb but nothing in the story really stuck with me. Then a couple of years ago our nephew was born and from a very early age he had a thing for robots and machines (at around 10 months his favorite toy was a roomba). I told my wife maybe he'd like Wall-E since nothing really grabbed his attention movie-wise. I decided to show it to him on my phone when he was sitting with me and his eyes went all wide and he had the hugest smile the whole time. We'd watch it at least twice a week and I began teaching him vocabulary through the elements in the film. He's not even 4 and he's already obsessed with all things space, space travel, the planets, the environment, and our place in it. Wall-E is now one of our favorite films, and I can't think of another that's brought more joy to my life. Glad you enjoyed it!

My favorite scene is when WALL-E and Eve are flying together outside the ship. ------- The cascade of particles is so beautiful in the form of organized chaos. Reflecting the dance of life, especially after 2020. ------- If we let the dance of life happen some beautiful things can come of it.

I often find that even today the misconception that comics and animated movies are only made for kids is still common here in Europe. Animation can be just as deep and good in conveying serious issues as live action media. It can also be brutally graphic. I remember when I was 16 and still living with my parents I was watching the anime movie Akira. My mother entered the room and asked snickering "What are you watching? Biene Maja?". (Biene Maja was an animated kids show in Germany.) She left confused and a bit concerned after seeing a few scenes of bloody carnage.

Wonderful movie and wonderful reaction. I teared up a little, and I've seen it many times.

This one really does tug at your heartstrings I'm 49 and I still love this movie.

EVERYONE needs to watch this movie, kids and adults alike. They need to see what our planet may very well become in the not so distant future. Great reaction as always. The people at Pixar are the gold standard when it comes to storytelling. Any movie from them cannot be recommended highly enough.

I took my mom to see this when I worked at the theater. It was one of my best memories.

I love some of the shots in this movie. It’s made in a way where it looks as though an actual camera was used to film it. With the shallow depth of field and ’camera‘ movements. Pixar are so incredible!

One of my favorite movies ever made, it’s so perfect from beginning to end. The voice of Wall-E was provided by none other than the father of sci fi sound effects, Ben Burt, who also gave life to R2-D2, lightsabers, and pretty much every other memorable Star Wars sound effect. When I saw this in theaters, I knew it was a fantastic film, but the moment I realized it worked on every level was when Wall-E is repaired at the end and isn’t acting like himself. It was dead quiet, a few sobs were heard, then a child, probably 5 years old, whispered to someone sitting next to them, “Wall-E died.” The fact that Pixar managed to convey that idea so well that a character who is not a living creature, who is robotic, who is still standing there and is moving, and yet is no longer themselves, can be perceived by a kid as having died… it is truly breathtaking filmmaking.

If you look closely, among the garbage on Earth are dead WALL*E units. The vehicle in which WALL*E resides has rotating shelves with WALL*E-sized cubbies. The implication is that an army of trash compactor robots was set loose in the city (every city), while humans left.

Oh Mary we all love your accent. That's why we all watch you to listen to you talk, and interpret American movies. I'm a older man and I cried like a little kid when I seen this movie. It's geared for adults but kids can watch it. And it is wholesome it's a great movie.

Glad you enjoyed this movie, it has a lot of heart. Pixar Studios has never released a bad movie. They used to release their movies through Disney and after about 12 years they told Disney, that they weren't going to go through them anymore. After a short while, Disney showed up one day, pulled out their checkbook and said "I'm going to write a One, and then Zero's, you tell us when you want us to stop..." You're accent is cute, I actually spent a few hours in your country once at a WWI American Cemetery, many years ago. I wish I could have seen more of it. Keep up the good work, we love your stuff!

The perfect example of why Pixar are absolute masters. Think of how many actual words were in this movie. Aside from "Wall-E" "Eve(a)" and "directive", it's just the instructional videos from Fred Willard, a hand full of lines from the Captain, 2 passengers, and the helm robot. And aside from Fred Willard, the Captain, and 2 passengers, none of the rest of the characters even have real faces. Wall-E's head is basically a pair of binoculars, EVE's is a 2 color display panel. Pixar are a bunch of absolute WIZARDS.

Glad you liked. The HAL comparison is totally on-point. The ship AI was initially more like Maximillian from _The Black Hole._ The director ended up watching _2001_ over a weekend and realized that the whole point of the film, choice vs. automation, would probably sell better with an antagonist that was less anthropomorphic and more impersonal. The redesign revolved alot around the viewport of submarine periscopes mixed with the ship wheel motif. I think even the ship security bots were more mech versions of Maximillian originally but switched to what they have here. There was a whole Robot Wars gladiatorial game subplot and sequence involving the ship's service bots and WALL-E during the breakout scenes, which got canned later on.

As much as I enjoy watching your... lets say - more "innocents soul" react to more action/graphic movies ('cause, it is super fun to see you "squirm" :) Its also super fun to see you react to these more wholesome movies... Thanks :)

I've always found that my life is something like a WALL-E or Joe Dirt... but without the happy ending ;D Also, I've got to say, I absolutely love hearing Mari laugh XD It never gets old... and I just realized today, do you know who it reminds me of? The original Final Fantasy has a character (an evil one, admittedly) named Scarlett and she used to do this laugh (in text) that I could never quite figure out in my head how it sounded... I think this is it ;D

Wall-E was Pixar at their best, I think. That's not to delegitimize all the other art they've made; Toy Story 3 comes to mind, as does Incredibles, Coco, Inside Out... and that's not even scratching the surface on their run of movies that were just good movies. But with Wall-E, they really built something special, something timeless, something that unerringly strikes at the heart.

What's even crazier is there was a lunch among the original Pixar people early on, a single lunch meeting, where they came up with the ideas for Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, and Wall-E. The basic ideas for those four movies came from one lunch at Pixar. Also, I highly recommend you watch all the Pixar movies, especially Up.

The fire extinguisher in space....other movies have done this, but as far as I recall Wall-E was the first.

It's not just any animated movie, it's a Pixar movie. They can make you cry in few minutes.

I think this is probably my favorite Pixar movie, and you can't really go wrong with any of them, but I think the others that match this one in emotional impact are: Monsters Inc. as kid i was obsseded with this movie. i remeber every scene. and now when im old and when i watching it - it always end with tears :') - its one of best movie with good plot, amazing characters and very nice lesson.

But… did you see it ‘till the end, the credits?? ‘Cause it tells the rest of the story, of people learning to live a terrestrial natural life, the rogue robots having a new purpose but as assistant to humans to make normal human things, and of course, the history of the plant the captain planted again!

This is one of my all time favourites. I saw it in theatre and cried a bunch. The computer animation is still great 14 years later.

and when i saw the trailer for this movie, i didn't know it was going to be an animated movie, all they showed us was Wall E and a spaceship on some desert planet. so i actually thought that this was going to be a new live action Star Wars movie , and that there were going to be live action actors, because in the trailer, Wall E looked photo real like real metal, so i didn't know he was animated.

There is something so inspiring about it when we realize that big tree came from that very boot in the final credits... 🌱

It is so crazy to think that 2110, the year they said humans left Earth in this movie, is now less than a hundred years away. Babies that have already been born could live to see that year.

I know what it's like to have been forgotten by someone you love... I was Wall-E... I lived with my girlfriend who changed over the years and I was alone. Waiting for the woman I loved to come back. Waiting for her to remember who she was when she loved me.. I could have left at any time.. Given up and gone home.. But I stayed. Every day I would tell her that I loved her. Every day, I looked after her and the house, her car, and the pets. I kept hoping that the good person she was would come back. I would see her from time to time. Peeking though the person she became. She was still in there.... -- She died in my arms of cancer last June.. I'd taken her to the hospital and I was there every day with her.. In the end, I got the "Quantum Leap" ending... -- I spent years holding my own hands like Wall-E and praying that things would change. Sometimes, there are no happy endings. Or redemption. (addendum :. "Quantum Leap" was a TV show from the 90s in which Dr. Beckett would leap from person to person, year to year, and put the wrong things right. The last episode, ends on a black screen with the words, "Dr. Sam Beckett never returned." --- Fans were in an uproar because all those seasons of waiting to see if he gets home, and we felt like we got gypped. --- It's only when you look back at it as an older person that you realize he made the right choice. That the hero's job, is never really done.) -- In my relationship, I felt cheated. That had there been more time, maybe the good person she was would have come back. In the last six months, I lost her, the house, I had to give our pets to the shelter... And now I'm truly alone. Just me and the ghosts. The memories of the happy and the sad. And I will always be haunted by the last image in my head of her laying in a very quiet room turning blue and cold in the dim light.. No matter how many years we were given, it wasn't long enough. And those last months flew through me like angry birds with razors..

This is an underrated movie produced by Disney. I love high tech, and this adds to the imagination! :)

Trust me.. I cried too. I saw Wall-E by accident. I went into the theater it was playing while waiting to sneak into to see The Incredible Hulk. I ended up so invested in Wall-E that I missed the Hulk movie on that day, but it was worth it.

"Out there..., there's a world outside of Yonkers Barnaby... Listen, Barnaby..." And thus the song begins in Wall-E's video 😀 What a lovely reaction Marij... Captain: "you went a long way for a drink of water. All you needed was someone to take care of you--" and he paused and realized the analogy maybe the Earth just needs someone to take care of it. A moment of clarity?

Wall-E is my absolute favorite Pixar movie. For me it just ticks so many boxes.

This one truly deserved all the awards it got imo. Lately I feel like Pixar just out-earns other animated films like Klaus and Into the Spider-Verse but still gets the Oscars for reasons I can't fathom. But when Wall-E came out, I think it really set a new stage for animated films to bring up such "grown-up" themes like pollution, monopolization, automation, etc without losing the fun and lovable Pixar feels. Some scenes will never NOT give me goose-bumps and warm feelings like the zero-g dance. Their orientation in space is constantly moving but the camera doesn't make it nauseating. and the music synchronized to it like they're in a cosmic ballroom and the fact that they basically don't even talk but you know they feel so much affection for each other is a testament to how great the animation is. MMM just a darn good animated film. I hope to work on something like it one day

Us English speakers and our silly Rhotic R's. Some of us have learned to roll our R's as well, especially in the U.S. since Spanish is also very prevalent here. Also, this movie made me cry over an animated robot. That's great story telling.

I love this movie. Its so dystopian while providing that great sci fi aesthetic, and Thomas Newman's score is so cool. Also, gets a little dark when you realize those humans arent gonna survive very long back on Earth. Theyve lived in a sterile, controlled environment all their lives, and now theyre on a trashed planet with a barely breathable atmosphere anymore and extremely volatile storms. Its gonna be several generations before they even return the planet to hospitable conditions

The great Pixar movies are untouchable. Everything they were doing in this era was straight up homeruns. Highly recommend "Up," "Toy Story 3," "The Incredibles" and (one of my favorite movies, animated or otherwise) "Inside Out." You're in for such a treat. Soul stroking goodness.

First 30 minutes of no dialogue storytelling is Pixar at the absolute height of their prowess. Like high-art French animation. For me, WALL-E is a top-3 Pixar movie, and of the best Disney movies, period.
