I have been drywall finishing for 40 years, I have used about everything, I do a lot of rehabs and generally use spray cans for small areas, hopper for lots of small to large areas. I just used this product and I like it!!! You have to know and feel drywall to get instant and perfect results, or practice like anything else. I can definately say as a testimony, that its a good solid product that works!! I have a new tool and love it!!!!

Just used the EZ Pro yesterday. Removed a skylight and covered up with drywall. Used with the Milwaukee M18 air compressor and it worked great. Easy clean up as well. Never buying the aerosols again.

Bought this kit some time ago and have used it with great success. Good tips regarding pressure setting to allow for drop and squeezing after starting air. This is a good piece of gear for the do it yourself and pays for itself pretty quickly.

Great for small projects and full rooms. We used this for our master bath remodel a few years ago and again now for two of our closets. Our house was done with Orange Peel and this tool worked great. It's all about the pressure you put on the bag. A little goes a long way.

I’ve used this product for about a year now and it’s awesome! Cheaper and easier than cans or a hopper gun. Great for small projects up to a whole sheet of drywall in size. Anyone can use this successfully!!!

Thanks for the review. I’ve been on the fence about picking one up. The last straw was actually yesterday when I needed to patch two stinkin towel rod holes, and all 3 cans of my spray texture were full, but dead. What perfect timing. I am in the market for a mess air compressor. I was hesitant to buy any of the home depot brands. I saw this video and I did the research and ordered a 2hp California air tool compressor.

Hey thanks for the vid and the heads up on what seems to be a very useful product. I've been looking for a better(less messy than a full size gun) way to texture patches.

The bags are refillable. I use a masonry mortar bag $6 (cake frosting looking thing) to refill these. Just wash out the used bag. Mix some new texture in a small bucket. Then place that new mix into the masonry bag. Then refill the smaller bag. Save some money.

I love using the EZ Pro texture gun. I think it works great for small jobs. Very convenient, easy to clean, compact to carry. Replacement bags are too expensive.

Like the video, I bought one today at Sherwin. Seen it on the counter display and had to have it. Looked well built and anything is better than a can. I do kitchen remodeling and some drywall is subed out but I do all the patches from plumbers and electricians to other trades cutting holes. I refuse to use a spray can I hate them! And it's a pain in the ass to bust a hopper for a doorknob size patch. If I can get away with it maybe a texture sponge or a few other tricks if it knockdown or orange, but will mix a pan of mud and run it through a hopper, and then clean that stupid thing. But our clients won't put up with sub par so it's gotta be that way. This seemed ideal for doing Cali patches on outlets and such. I have used many of your tips and they never let me down, so thanks for the little vid on this thing.

Chris: a little testimony that i think will encourage you. Remember I was the one who inspired you to post a little verse in your videos again? Well, yesterday I lost my temper with my sister... of all people, that verse was for ME! The Lord actually blessed both of us because of that. Praise Him, and thank you for the inspired verse, surely you were plugged in for that one ;)

Just used one today and it was OK. I think I can match the texture better with the cans (hopper like one) plus the can drys in about 10-15 minutes. This EZ Pro drywall in the bag for me takes too long to dry. Time is money and I need to prime and paint the same day on these small patches. So for me, it's a no-go for small jobs when I want to get it done fast!

I saw a demo where they put a small cup of water up to the input and blew out the gun before disconnecting from the compressor hose. Looked like a good way to clean out the inside of the gun. For what it's worth, I haven't tried that yet.

I used the cans and had to fix a couple patch areas a couple months later to my surprise the cans works perfectly and I saved some money

Just used it for a few patches and large sections of new drywall where I removed a couple of art niches. Worked like a champ for knockdown but uses a ton of material. Bought 4 bags, used 8. A normal texture gun would have used a similar amount of material but don't be misled by the size of the bag, you'll need more than you think. Overall, loved it and will use it again vs. dragging out all the big stuff.

Very cool! I just bought one and will use soon on a job. Curious to know about how long do you let the texture sit before pulling it with a mud knife for knockdown?

Bought the gun recently and am about to get to work on several small patches...after watching your video, I’m feeling good about it and the wife is out of town for a few days, so it all goes to hell in a hand basket, at least there’ll be time to clean it up...I’ll post results later today.

I’ve got this tool. I haven’t used it yet. I was hoping to get it where I can eliminate the cans. I got the cordless dewalt compressor to see if that would push this gun. Thanks for,the video! I do only drywall repairs. Got to try this now!

Luv it , shot about 45psi first time using it, and it matched my customers walls perfect. Buy two cans of spray can texture, and you paid for this gun. I bought it after I went to my van to grab a spray can texture, and both the cans that were full , didn't spray. I'm done with spray cans, what a waste of money those are.

I have a 200 gallon spray rig that I use for spraying my big jobs, for big knockdown and a lot of orange-peel. Put for my punch-out I use a binks 2 qt pressure pot with a Binks 2100 spray gun. It's like having my rig with me but in a miniature form sprays knock down perfect even the real big stuff and I can match any orange-peel. When you buy the binks spray gun you have to change out the fluid nozzle, the needle end spray cap to accommodate for texture I have been doing drywall and drywall textures smooth wall framing hanging for 38 years now. Let me tell you the pressure pot and Binks gone is a must if you do a lot of punch-out. Not cheap though but will last forever

Thanks for the instructions. I tried a roller to get the right texture to match the surrounding wall but it looked worse than usual. So I purchased the system to try it and looked up instructions on RU-vid. I did a quick test area on a spare piece of drywall, then did my wall. I only used 1 bag and it worked great! I wasted a half day rolling the texture on when this worked in a few minutes. The sprayer was $50 and $8 a bag for the texture, I got it at Home Depot. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the review, i just bought several of these marked-down for myself (and gifts?). Nowhere could i find the cfm/scfm info, except for here. I'm new to texture, and started cans last year. A couple failed, but once i learned the extremes of the can-tip, i think they're great. But i have a ~4x4 ceiling patch i may try this gun on, if i can find a quiet little cheap compressor local this week. (i guess i'd need a 7gal minimumfor hvlp spraying a room trim they say, but a little one for texture touchups...might double for small paint touchups...hopefully).

I'm not a professional drywall guy but I bought one of these for small jobs and it works awesome and MUCH better than a spray can.

Thanks Chris I picked up the same gun from Sherwin Williams store and they only had two but also had plenty of the bags. I am only going to patch up some places on a pantry remodeling project and several other small projects.

I used it. I'm not a pro but it made me look good.

The air thru the nozzle creates a vacuum in the bag regardless if you squeeze the bag or not. Just be ready as soon as you squeeze the trigger it comes out.

i was trying to spray paint my connex box today(first time ever messing with a airless sprayer. i literally got more pain on the ground than on the connex box) and god almighty you would have laughed till your sides split. i had so much trouble with clogging the tip that at one point somehow while trying to turn the tip to clear the clog it sprayed out from around the tip handle and blasted me in the mouth and all over my neck and my shirt. realized the paint is loaded with tons of debris. went to lowes and bought a strainer net and 5gal bucket, strained the paint and ill give it another shot tomorrow. which leads me to ask do you have a video on what you do to strain your paint and keeping debris out of the system? i was thinking of putting the second net over the pickup screen for an added layer of filtering. tip is a 517 so pretty small and prone to clogs.

I bought one of the updated sprayers with the screw on bags. I replaced a 2 panel patio door in our family room with a sliding window. I used the EZ-PRO texture spray gun and 3 bags of texture mud. Works terrific and matched the existing texture perfect. No more spray cans for me.

Instead of waterboarding the gun you can use a bottle cap and shoot it through and done, amazing product

Nice I use the orange peel cans they’re about 20 something dollars but they suck they run out fast and always gets clogged I seem that product the other day ima get one forsure lol

I used this tool yesterday for the first time. I had yo do a 3 ft. x 8' ft. indoor ceiling patch project for a customer (with lots of furniture). I finally got the hang of using the tool but didn't realize it would leave such a mess everywhere. Are the tiny particles supposed to bounce off the wall or celling that much? I think 60% of the texturizer landed on the ceiling and 40% landed on the floor and other unwanted places. The house cleanup was a nightmare. TIP: use this product outdoors or make sure to completely seal your room with plastic.

I'm sick & tired of the hopper gun, I'm gonna give this a try. I suspect it'll be one of those immediate goto tools.

What is the difference between orange peal and knock down

I used this product years ago before it hit the stores in Arizona. Honestly I was not a big fan of it at all.

how much sqft cover per bag for a ceiling knockdown

I used this product for two projects, and each time, I was disappointed in the results. The issue is trying to get the gun to spray splats that are consistent in size. You need to keep the squeeze pressure on the bag constant otherwise your splat size will vary. However, the bag shrinks as it is being depleted of its contents. It is hard to apply a steady squeeze pressure because your grip is constantly changing. Moreover, you have to try to maintain that steady squeeze pressure all while swirling the gun, keeping its distance to the dry wall constant, and moving your body to reach unsprayed areas of the drywall. Most RU-vid videos, like this one, show you only 1-2 seconds or spraying from a full bag. Unfortunately for me, I thought the easiness of the first 1-2 seconds were representative of the entire life of the bag. They are not. For my two projects, I wound up cleaning off the spray from the walls and hiring a contractor.

I had to remove 6 sheet mirror panels from our bathroom walls, have a lot of drywall repair to do from removing the mirror mastic, any videos on this and repairing the walls and retexturing? thanks

I've seen these at my SW and asked about them. I always end up not getting one. I can see how this would be much more convenient than using a large hopper and compressor or Tex-spray for a small repair job. My main concern was always cost effectiveness, otherwise the concept is great.

When you say knock down, can I use this over head, thinking of taping and prepping my whole house and doing knock down on my cathedral ceilings. I'm quite competent and know I can do it if it's possible. Also, do I need to trowel for the true knock down look?

Saw this at HD about 4 months ago. Almost jumped at it until I saw the price of the sprayer. $50 for that simple item?!? Looks like something you could fab yourself. It appeared in your demo that those few patches you did used almost the entire bag. Is that accurate?

Didn't have the best experience with this product. The bags had undissolved solids in them that would clog the gun, the pouch spout and ultimately threw solid chunks on to the wall. I shook and mixed the bags quite a bit too. I suppose maybe the bags had been sitting around for a while at my local SW store but it was a bit of an inconsistent experience. Furthermore, the bags don't last long, there is maybe enough to do a 24x24" space with medium texture. Both times I used it, I ran out of material prematurely. The one time I used a hopper, it was a much easier experience minus the clean up.

I bought this product and regretted it! Useful for really small jobs, and it’s not consistent with the texture. A regular hopper is 10x better

I have to respectfully disagree about can sprays. Read directions, after usage turn can upside down spray and too clear nozzle. Just like aerosol spray paint. Another top get it warm either in got water bath or Sun in windshield. It increases the propellant give greater control. Works with oil and water based. I think this process would be expensive even for those 2sq foot repairs. I use my texture gun like usual but got a 1 lb hopper putt of the homel kit. Works great on small jobs with repeatable results and basically using the texture gun I am already accustomed too. Try the can idea I think you be surprised at the results. I have used can three and four times inn issues like door knob damage etc. I could see this product bring useful but cost versus already have solution. Thank you though. Like I said I see value in this item. Thanks for all the info you give

Very awesome tool and product one thing I would change is a big bag with more material. The ones you get are great for patches but for remodeling or just full walls when you want to get things done quick the bags are too small.

Looked at your store, picture says "ready mix" on the bags, text summary says "ready to mix" - confused me for a second. Nifty product, I'll keep it in mind.

I so squeezed the bag first yesterday 🤦🏻‍♂️ I don’t read directions I watch the Idaho Painter!

We want a refilled syringe or something of that sort the bags of texture are 8 buck plus tax. Very expensive.

The catch here is not the gun, its the bag, it covers per manufacturer 35 sqft, BUT each bag is $8 and some change plus taxes, I think it works but: 1. If you doing a small area, its fine, but when it is small, just go ahead and buy the disposal aerosol can. 2. If you doing a big project with this, sell your house, your car, and wife car to afford the mud bags. 3. Pros do not use this, because it does not work for them for many reasons, if this meant for non-pros, then you will have some issues to keep the texture consistent when trying to squeeze the bag. I will consider it if the bag is $2.00 and still they can make ton of money selling it for $2.00
