No offense and thanks for the feedback. I was putting it on thick because the piece is entirely end grain, which of course absorbs more of everything than side grain. Even with a couple of coats on end grain you can still get a "pitted" look with open pores so i was giving it a chance to absorb the max possible to get more of the solids in the Osmo into the grain. That's not to say I was correct or anything, just why I was leaving it wetter for longer than you might in a normal Osmo application. I have some 1101 also but didn't try it on this piece as it has less solids in it, if anything I would like to try a thicker version with an end grain top like this.

I've never tried any of them over paint or ceramic, so sorry nothing to add there. I've got a few years on ya...trying to do occasional projects while running another business that takes ~50 hrs a week...I don't get in the shop nearly enough... :)

Just a good cellphone camera with a phone mount for a tripod, a Note 10 now but back then would have probably been a Galaxy S6.

Built that a long time ago now, but I believe it was 24 x 52.

I believe they say it takes around 10 days for a full cure, so you can use it but be careful.

I went to 320 on the wood and 600 on the epoxy. On each grit you have to be careful that all of the larger swirl marks from the previous grit are gone or they will remain at the end.

It's been too long on that one to remember exactly, but I think I went to 600 on the epoxy, not sure on the wood.

@@LoneOakWoodworks hi, and how you manage to sand epoxy and wood with different grains?

@@russiansarepidors You have to be careful to spend extra time on the epoxy sections as the wood will definitely sand away faster.

I'm sorry I missed your question when it was posted. I used the 3043 clear gloss on this table. I also have a satin on hand, but I don't have and don't see any semi gloss listed.

It looks like I worked it in for around 6 minutes before wiping down so it could have been longer, but not exactly wiping off immediately.. There's a limit to how much is going to soak in, but it certainly wouldn't have hurt to have waited a bit longer. 👍

@@LoneOakWoodworks Regarding how much will soak in .. I’ve certainly doesn’t the longer you leave it the more the wood absorbs.. I experimented and did two fairly heavy coats and left them over night on both occasions and the wood continued to absorb the osmo over night .. so isn’t it the case that the longer you leave the product on the more the wood will take? I actually spoke to Osmo themselves and they said it was counter productive to remove any if wipes/brushed on and just to leave it to soak in and dry/cure over night. On the flip side, do you use much pressure when ‘wiping off the excess?’ Thanks ..

If you look behind me to the left there's a cnc router back there. I've also used a router sled in the past, but now with the cnc it's much easier.
