I ordered mine online from Amazon. Received it yesterday My versa tool did not come with a transfer tip.. unfortunately.and only one burning stamp. Other than than, exactly the same. After watching this video. I really wish it had.
Thank you for sharing this tip. I have the Versa tool kit with the different tips, which is great. Mine has the temperature control which I really like! I can use it with many things. I want to try a laser transfer onto wood, what temperature do you recommend? What about transfer to cotton fabric? What temperature?
Hi there, I would recommend using the hottest setting on the temperature dial for transferring to wood. I have not tried using this technique on fabric. However, you could experiment by starting with the lowest head setting and turning it up if needed.
I also had the same problem as Lauren. I,ve tried several times to transfer an image and it isn't working. My image is printed on Hammermill Color Copy Laser Jet paper, which is much thicker than your standard copy paper. Also I was wondering if it matters how old the print is, does it have to be fresh or can it be something I printed several days or even weeks ago?
I have been trying to transfer a few images. They are printed on a lazer printer. I have it on the highest setting turned as high as it'll go and I either burn the wood in places or parts of the image don't transfer? How hard should I be pressing on the paper and the wood? Would putting a second blank piece of paper over top help prevent the wood from burning and the image to transfer a bit better? Thanks
I am looking for these fuel stempels for my friend but found nothing.he just wants these smooth rounds to push trough on the wood. Does anyone know where you can only get these ?? No sets
Hi Chris, Just wondering, can you transfer White text or ink? I'm pretty sure most printers treat white as "Don't print", using the paper background for that purpose. Have you tried?@Walnut Hollow
Hi, thank you for your tutorial. I used the same technique to transfer an image on wood, but it did not line up correctly. Is there a way that i can remove the image from the wood?
How long should the process take? I'm doing it and it is taking forever, and the ink isn't fully sinking through. Also the wood is bubbling- should this be happening?
Hi there, are you using a laser printed image? The graphic must be laser jet printed in order for it to transfer. The wood should not be bubbling either.
You could transfer an image on to leather, but you should test it out on a scrap piece before doing the real project. The technique really just depends on the type of leather you are working with and how hard you press down when transferring. Good luck!
I have a laser printer and tried this on wood with my versa tool but had no luck. Is there certain type of paper you have to print the image on? I don't understand what I am doing wrong please help
Hi Lauren- were you using the hottest setting on the Creative Versa-Tool? Also, was it a color image or black and white? A color image does not transfer as well as a black and white image. It also takes some time. Patience is key in image transferring. If you have any other questions please contact our customer service representative at 1-800-395-5995
Hi again, couple of questions, how are you reversing everything before you transfer it onto the wood i.e the words. ?And before changing the screw in points, does the tool have to have gone cold before changing?I had the same problem as Aksa did with the threads not screwing in right , I just thought it was because it got too hot and melted the threads inside. Is it possible to get the rethreading tool in the uk or would any ordinary rethreading tap do the job?
+Sean Ditch The reversing is done in the design software we used. You would have to Google search how to do that in your program. We recommend that the tool is cooled down before changing tips. I'm sure you would be able to find a rethreading tool in the UK. You'll just have to make sure it is the correct screw size. Our tools and points are screw size 8 with 32 threads per inch.
Can the ink on the paper be dry when you transfer itor do you have to use it right away when it is wet I'm going to go to staples and print off some pictures with a laser jet printer .
+Brandie Carlson Yes! That is a great idea and the transfer point (circle shape) is perfect for that. We just came across this on Pinterest, you might find it useful: www.momtastic.com/diy/502461-diy-yard-yahtzee/
Mineral oil is Food safe as I use it on all my food Wooden cutting & Backing Dough boards also, Same Oil that you can buy in your Drug store for Laxative, That's the same Mineral oil to use.
You can use the internet to find photos you would like to wood burn, or even use personal photos. I'm not sure if your printer is a laser printer, but it should say in the instruction manual if it is.
Hi, i bought this tool and for some reason i am not able to insert any of the tips in it anymore. It just doesn't screw on. I've had it for a few weeks only and have used it a few times. What did i do wrong? It was working fine and now it won't attach to any tip. Did i mess up the grooves inside the holder by any chance? Is that possible?
+Aksa Ali Could you send us your address in a private message? We would be more than happy to send you a re-threading tool. This tool works like a screwdriver and should be used when the tool is cold. You might also want to pick up some Powdered Graphite Lubricant and apply it to the threads in the tool. Thanks!
+Aksa Ali Please email our customer service associate, Judy, at myersj@walnuthollow.com. I will let her know you'll be in contact with her. That will be easier than a private message on here. And we can definitely ship to Canada!
+Walnut Hollow i got a rethreading tool from u as well but i can't figure out how to fix the burner with it. Do you have a video for that by any chance?
