Would loved to have heard this on the Volca Keys as I feel the crunchy quality of both would have been rather complimentary but I do see how you can express more of its qualities using this Elektron kit instead. Fantastic demo.
Happy to! I haven't used a Particle in a while (I think the one I had a few years ago was the previous gen), but I need to try one out and maybe A/B the two! Thanks for your comment. =)
You know, fair point, it is also a good option, but to that end, I'd have to say that extra $175 is more than 50% more expensive, and there are other factors to consider like size, and even control scheme. I personally don't love the controls on the Microcosm, and I feel like the controls on the Fable are more straightforward and have a tighter relationship to what's actually going on vs the Microcosm. Then again Microcosm is stereo and has midi, so yeah, definitely fair to compare the two. I want to run two Fables into a Microcosm and then into two Draumes haha.
Honestly for 355€, I find it a little bit too "basic" (in the sense that, to me, it lacks some weirdness)... Makes me think of Dweller from OBNE that I like a lot which is 238€. Thanks for the video!
Hmm I haven't tried the Dweller, but have seen it around. I might have to take a look at it. I know what you mean about not being super weird, but then I kinda could argue that some predictability is kinda nice too. I am always on the fence about how far I want stuff to be pushed haha. That being said, I could see running this inline with something like a Mood/Blooper/CT5, you could tack on another layer of wildness to spice things up further, but yeah if you're talking about all in one and at a certain price point, I guess that would all add up fast! Thanks for the comment and for watching! =)
