totally! one of my favorite tones was LUSH mode set to a pretty modest decay and mix - just really elegant ambient verb. and then dial things up for expansive wash.
I can't believe how much variation there is in just the sweep of those faders. I had this playing in the background and had to come back and see if you had switched the algorithm but it was still on Lush. Beautiful demo! That Haze setting sounds like an evolution of the Fathom Lo-Fi setting which is my favorite reverb of all time. I don't even have a pedalboard anymore (just Helix) and I'm tempted to grab this...
yes! I could have spend 20 minutes with LUSH alone. tbh I don't know that I've ever played Fathom, but that's cool when it grabs from a few current inspos - it's a nicely packaged ambient playground / intro to ambient / etc etc and the simplicity is refreshing. thanks for watching man :D
ok , that bass might be my FAV piece of gear to enter the studio in the last few years, and there has been A LOT of gear through here. It's so fun to play.
I would imagine most ambient players would be running stereo, but not all by far. Might be cool for a pre drive also. Either, good cheaper pedals is always a plus.
Yeah pre-drive would be a fun experiment. I’ve been really into mono tracking even for ambient compositions, and had fun doubling parts or just layering multiple tracks with this to create stereo dimension. Lots of ways to skin a cat!
I'm using an Afterneath for my cosmic verb for my melodic flute solos. Into Hardwire Supernatural for my always on modulated plate with pre-delay. This pedal almost does both, just needs several presets to let me switch. MIDI is the Way. But dang, the price on this is candy. Buy two!
I regret not getting them to send me two for this vid to run in stereo ha! But honestly yea, there are some really solid ambient sounds in this one that are well worth the price of admission.
I wonder how this might pair with the Cloudburst. Had to come back and listen with headphones. I like those slide bars. Never heard of these. Your demo sold me!
dear l*rd a new level of cheap! Wow. I feel good about throwing my money at Walrus - it's cool to get to support folks I've shook hands with and stuff. Lots of options in the budget world these days, I'd be curious of that one for comparison sake but some of those basement bargain options personally scare me off from the onset.
I have about x5 Walrus Audio pedals including the Slotva Reverb . I like all of them. The M-VAVE Mini Universe is worth a look though. I own it and there are a few caveats but certainly pedalboard friendly currently. Cheers
Had the Sloer for a day. Didn’t like the UI at all, and didn’t particularly connect with the algorithms. Owned the Fathom for about a year, but didn’t love it. My main reverbs are Flint and Dispatch Master, so this is a nice add-on to those. I can cover most anything with these three. I prefer running two or three reverb pedals rather than using a single big box do-it-all pedal. WYSIWYG knobs that way.
yeah that makes a lot of sense. I love the sounds in Sloer , but agree that with an entire secondary layer of features it gets a bit complex. Flint is such a great foundation , and I bet this would pair/complement it really nicely.
Their fundamental distortion pedal is my favorite distortion tones from them. So cool. But, all their fundamental stuff is great. This one sounds great too! Also, that Hiwatt sounds so killer. I love it. Do you remember which “speaker” you used in the ox?
Great video! If I have a Meris Mercury7 and it doesn't really click with me/dial in quickly, would you recommend this from your testing so far? For tones like DIIV; chorusy, sometimes overdriven and sometimes heavy. Shoegaze, Post-Rock, etc.
I think it'd be a killer verb for shoe gaze / post-rock stuff. I didn't get to trying it before drives, but I bet HAZE would be really cool in that setting. And the control scheme is dead. simple. vs the M7.
@@AmbientEndeavorsYeah, the M7 gives off the impression of being "simple" because it only has 2 verb sounds, but with the amount of extra options after it you end up feeling kind of lost tinkering with things, and never truly getting to where you want to. (at least that's my experience) I love pedals that hone in on a sound quickly.
haha, I mean that was probably never the point with this specific pedal. But I hear ya. All of the intro sketch was multi-tracked mono and layered and mixed in stereo so I think there's still a compelling case for it as is. Otherwise definitely check out SLOER - that's the jam if you're needing stereo.
Who tf are u. Here’s a tip beat it. Let’s all go to your channel and see the videos you’re producing that we can critique every little thing that you’re doing. I have nothing but time.
