Some people have Screamers and comps in the front of their chain, I have a comp and FABLE right after. I use it on everything. It just gives flavor and mod and movement to all sounds. It makes whatever you imagine better. Buy a FABLE! Buy two! I am Groot!

Aside from making noises, it doesn’t seem like it has any valuable function in a song.

"I am GROOT!" I make some "weird" sounds .... at times... BUT, this has those possibilities magnified to more extremes than I care to explore. BUT... it's Cool. So.... is GROOT!

The Walrus Fable is like a Chase Bliss Mood for people who want an instantly usable and conventional ambient granular experience. It doesn't have the depth of weirdness and experimental stuff that Mood has - but it has instantly usable, and creative, and glitchy wonderfulness. Fable is musical, and awesome, right out of the box. Especially if you're rooted in conventional music and just want glitchy colours and shades added.

Perfect for bedroom players when you come home and want to play with knobs and get something different every time. Not quite for songwriters or performers who want to save a sound and use it in a song and recall it any time. No presets in other words. Crazy to me that a company can make a pedal with this many sounds, and not let you save them. Insane...

I have a Lore & from the sounds of your demo the Fable is better. I am a non-guitarist who uses pedals to mutilate sounds in wonderful & nightmarish ways. I will wait until W.A. loses some more hiss before nabbing one myself. It is a pleasure to hear you speak up for pedals & the those who use them to make blippy bloppy goo like myself. A side note: My duo (Enrich'd White) just performed in Sacramento with the Austrian bloke DOWM ( Stefan Tiefengraber ). Do you know him? I am groot.

I am Groot.... this pedal seems so far up my street that I could probably live in it. Definitely added to wishlist! Great video, I think I'd agree with the suggested extras, presets would be super-useful, and it just seems to lend itself to stereo.

I'm so glad that you tried settings with the delay time at zero! That's a very different sounding palette, i'm not sure but i think in that way the hidden capabilities of the granular synthesis shines
