As a very fluent English and Spanish speaker, it's a compliment that this song is loved enough to be translated. Me encanta la version en español pero que hermoso y amable es que alguien le guste tanto para saber la significacion y traducirlo a su idioma para entender un poco mejor. No es igual, pero la idea esta alli.💙
hay buenas canciones y las hay piezas maestras, èstas trascienden cualquier barrera de idioma y de tiempo , asi son los clasicos , y los hay en su sentido opuesto por ejemplo : asereje del 2005
I think it´s a very good english version capturing the essence of the original story by Mecano. I just didn´t like the video. It had nothing to do with the story of the Gypsy woman and her Son.
Would not it be a better choice to include more scenes from Hunchback of Notre Dame as at least the movie (though bad movie) had a lot of Gypsy representation.

@🌟Sakura Espeon🌟 you gotta understand some spanish speakers may take offense at seeing this translation due to the fact it is very well done instead of poor or badly done as they claim it to be , truth is they get angry that someone seem to have made an acceptable english version for all people to hear , they feel invaded , they see it as an invasion of sorts i think chauvinism is involved here, this song enjoy cult status not only in spain but in many latinamerican countries a very well earned fame since it is a masterpiece and i can see why people get overprotective upset and somewhat zealous when an english version is released , specially one that gets the job done in getting the message across , in some ways a secret dear to us all got revealed thats what cult is about , you dont get to reveal the secret on pain of diminishing that which all of us share and deem as valuable , the secret here being something akin to national treasure or stuff , i for one feel elated that english native people,and for that matter a lotta people (english as lingua franca) can appreciate the beauty in this song
