Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress within Tomorrowland, Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World during May 2011 from visitor's point of view - SKIP the LINES, with tips, apps and real tickets at www.undercovertourist.com
Itchy. Tasty. It is because there a 6 theaters, and people are in the next one over, so they are watching the scene you just saw, that is why it all restarts
This song was stuck in my head and kept coming back a while after I left last year. My mom annoys us by singing it badly, which makes it stick more in my head LOL :D
yes. the grandma in the haunted mansion at disneyland was from the orginal carousel of progress when it was at disneyland. they made a copy of grandma and put it in the haunted mansion at disney world.
@idafugoso hmmm i'm going to say both lol. the seats (outer ring of the theatre) turns while the stages stay still ( except for the scenes behind the scrims... they spin around when it get's to their turn). a good example of the spinning ring that the seats r on is if u look up innoventions at DL, the part where u load and wait for the doors to open is i would say 1/4-1/2 of where the seats were for COP and America Sings at DL. sometimes u can see lines in the concrete where the seats were at.
I saw this exhibit at the '64-'65 NY World's Fair. I believe it is the same one which is on display in Disneyworld, FL except for some minor changes in the last scene. It was awesome to see back then and awesome to see now. Thanks for posting it.
+UndercoverTourist.com After the World's Fair ended in '65, we heard at the time that the entire attraction was being dismantled and trucked down to Orlando where it would be reassembled for a new theme park: Disneyworld. Thank you again Tad for sharing.
But obviously if the stage moves, then the upper walls and the ceiling move too. So it would be easier for them to move the lower part of the walls and the seats.
@Themeparkfanman actually 6 stages. 1. entrace steating/ overture. 2. 1900's. 3. 1920's. 4. 1940's. 5. 1994ish. 6 ending final/ exit thatre. to bad they didn't have the show going clockwise like the orginal COP. oh well lol
I miss this so much. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I hate the arcade and pizza place. I am sad the rockets were replaced. This is not the Disneyland I knew. However, I do wish someone in the corp would consider replacing the icons for future generations. Walt was a first achiever with dreams, and his legacy is, as it should be, a parade of hope, wisdom, and dreams. God bless you Mr. Disney, I truly loved the first Disneyland as you planned it. Thank you!
That's awesome! but you have to remember that the version they have these days is really cheesey and watered down compared to the 1964, 1967, and the 1975-to the early 90's. If you can find the "Now is the Time" version here on youtube... that kinda gives you the feel of hoe the script use to be! Remember... There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
They really need to restore this back to the original 1964 version with Rex Allen. This version sucks almost as bad as the previous "Now Is The Time" version.
