i saw the original version in disneyland. a big part of my childhood. back then we would always take the monorail into the park,so COP was usually the first thing we'd do. it became a tradition.
Well done, Sir. Carousel Of Progress is my #3 all-time favorite attraction at the Disney parks, right behind Disneyland's Pirates Of The Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. I saw the Carousel Of Progress at Disneyland as a child and it is a must-see attraction whenever I go to WDW. And I remember and miss Horizons.
I went on Carousel Of Progress in 1971 (I was 11 or 12), by which time the ramp to see the World Of Tomorrow was gone. I believe portions of what was in that could be seen from the Peoplemover in the 1970s. My biggest memory of Carousel Of Progress is Rover. We were there on a Lockheed night (my Uncle worked for them) and it was a several hour, after-the-park closed, event. No ticket books needed, the park was virtually empty and I also got my first ride on Pirates Of The Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Flight To The Moon, and Adventure Thru Inner Space (my #4 all-time favorite ride). I finally got to see Carousel Of Progess again in 1987 at Walt Disney World. On my first trip to Disneyland around 1967, (I was 7 or 8), I remember riding the Pack Mules and the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland.
I'm gladd i was borne a year after disnnyland stoped doing the ticket books. Lol! I'v herd of this atraction but i have never seen it. acording to my Mom and Dad thay got rid of it here in CA shortly befor my first viset to disnyland in 1987 and replaced it with America Sings. But now that i'v seen the video i think it was a cool atraction. The spining building is still ther tho. Its inovetions now.
@@REMEMBERHORIZONS I subscribed to you and yes, of course you would go to Carousel of Progress when everyone went to the E-Tickets. I mean, who needs to make reservations or make arrangements to ride in a private car in the Carousel Theater when you can literally just go to Magic Kingdom on weekdays during the late fall and you will definitely get good spots in line. I can't really say what attraction does it better, Carousel of Progress, or America Sings because they are pretty similar, I guess Carousel of Progress at Disneyland definitely gets 1 point for having a Progress City model that was literally almost the size of the Carousel Theater. Now I can say also that America Sings gets the point for having a new Projection Tunnel in 1975 but gets 1 point for having a Tron SuperSpeed Tunnel added in 1982 to now show screens of Tron Light cycles. What do you say is better Remember Horizons? It is definitely a hard decision for me to say or decide.
@@johnwray9890The Disneyland version actually was replaced all the way in 1974 so I wasn’t very shortly, besides that remember Disneylands Country Bear Jamboree
