Walt Young has been training in karate for over 35 years and began training in 2005 under Ricky Rose, Shihan student of Soken Hohan and Nishihira Kosei and founder of the branch of Shorin-ryu Matsumura Seito Suiken Karate. Walt has lived in mainland Japan and Okinawa for over 5 years and has been a direct student of Isa Kaishu Sensei, Sandai Soke of Ufuchiku-Den Ryukyu Kobujutsu, since 2011 and was granted the first ever Shibu certification for that lineage in 2013.
