I am an ice skater who has taken up roller skating. Let me just say, holy cow your advice is so rock solid. Watching it I was like, "Ohh...that's why my back camel (on ice) is garbage." Posture is everything!
Wow, Joe you are awesome, after struggling for a while on my own trying jumps and failing miserably, I watched your video on repeat a few times and I’m now improving dramatically! Thank you so much
Joe every time I need a refresher course I come back to your videos. Ive almost passed all my skills for derby now. I’ll send you a video as soon as I can.
I really have a passion for skating. I have been playing Roller Derby for a year now and am trying to get better at it. I really would like to be able to do fancy jumps and turns gracefully and I think I will be able to by watching you. Thank you so much for teaching and being out there doing this amazing thing called skating. Please show me more and more I cant get enough. There isn't any teachers around my area that I know of. Thank You Joe😘
body position is a great tip!!! I've always skated loose and I think that's why I have trouble turning around... forward and turning is no problem, but I definitely notice the twist every time I've tried to turn around, or sometimes if I turn to sharply. Thank you :)
Your videos are telling me to relax. I'm way to tense when skatig for no reason. Also to swapp my indoor/outdoor wheels with hard indoor wheels so I can slide a bit on transitions, scissors, mohawks, etc.
this is new to me. i was used to the backward outside edge first then stepping to the forward inside before leaving the ground. this looks harder. almost similar to the spread eagle before hand or mohawk before hand. same thing kinda.
thank you for helping me! I'm currently trying to find a coach or facility. I live in Kansas City, Kansas. if you know of anyone or anywhere please tell me!
