This is a very good lesson. Apart from MMA and people training to compete , most people learning a martial art are training for self defence. 🙏. Train properly and you will be ready if needed.

Talk talk talk.. ya talk until someone punches you in the face.. then you pass out! So bloody unrealistic to think that your opponent will obediently put his hands out to "sticky hands" with you.. totally useless in a real fight.
@gandalf7354
@gandalf7354 2 года назад
you missed the point. sticky hands is not simulating a real fight. its an exercise to develop the sensitivity so your body knows what to do with force from contact (close proximity) without relying on your eyes. in reality the drawn out session of 'sticky hands' would only be a mere second or moment in real time.

in the streets, nobody is going to let you touch them, u can only rely on visual.. unless you are talking bjj/judo/wrestling, where "the tighter, the better" lol

lol generally when I fight people, they don't want to let me touch them, but as long as I am better than them then that's not really their choice. Whether it's grappling OR striking, and in both scenarios they might elect to let me touch them in order to trap me. Likewise when somebody is better than me, he can touch me even though I might not want him to. When we're talking comparative skill like that generally the fighter who is better trained can successfully pull of almost any plan or mode of attack regardless of the opponent knowing the counter or not. Like a wrestler who is supremely better than you and well-trained can more than likely successfully pull off a double leg take down against you even though you might know how to perform the sprawl to stop it in theory. So I would argue that you use all sensory input together to respond effectively in every martial art worth its salt. BJJ, judo, wrestling included, I've rolled with grappplers and wrestlers that can get just as much information from that contact as I can. Not sure why you don't see it that way.

kam leung is a small guy. if he tries to do all that grabby shit on an actual boxer that is even 50 pounds heavier than him, he is getting his ass knocked out.
@Dolph-Face

Bruce Lee made excellent use of the grabbing and trapping skills from wing chun in full contact sparring with many people who were much bigger than him and had a wealth of boxing experience under their belt who then became his students. If your argument is that these techniques won't work against an opponent whose bigger than you no matter what, than I really don't see why because when boxing gets dirty you see plenty of boxers, both big and small, making use of grabbing and controlling the opponents wrists-forearms. Just look at UFC, you can be smaller than your opponent and be skilled and well-versed in grabbing and controlling forearms in a way that they might be quite unaccustomed to defending. Just because both boxers in the scenario might be doing "grabby shit" doesn't really automatically mean that the bigger boxer is knocking out the smaller one. Fighting is WAY more complicated than that. There are plenty of wing chun videos on youtube that warrant loads of shit talking about them. This isn't really one of them. A good boxer (big or small) can listen to what this teacher is saying and understand it and apply it and make it work, as long as he is indeed already skillful. Maybe you can't, and maybe most people watching this video can't, but if we are talking about well-trained boxers here, I would bet plenty of money that they can, even the smaller ones.

Nah, you are wrong, a kick boxer 20 kilos lighter than him would still kick his ass..
