Hi Ben, it's good that Wan has your attention - I'd highly recommend you get over there to train once the pandemic's over as it would take your ability to a new level. The reason you'll never see us putting much pressure on Wan is that when we can make it over there to train, it's not about trying to get something through (only his top students have ever managed that), it's about trying to take it all in and soak up as much as possible before having to go home again. Everyone tests Wan when they first go, don't you worry about that... and he absolutely loves it. :) I told him what I was going to do and came at him 100%... and ended up flying at a 90 degree angle straight into the wall. I was later thanked for providing the evening's entertainment. :)
I have enjoyed this video as well as the one about philipp bayer . I did leung ting for 12 years and bayer for 2 years. Both of these guys are much better in real life than they look on video. I haven't done chi sao with either bayer of wan kam leung, but I did do it with some bayer students and a couple of instructors who were not the top guys in philipp's organization, and they were very very good, the senior instructors are a bib big level better and philipp himself despite his age is a big level above all of them. The students in the videos aren't giving pressure because they are overwhelmed by his speed skill and also their ability to control and break their body structure. Wan kam leung's style is quite unorthodox, however a gifted eye can see how good he is, but more importantly if you read what Sifu Martin Brogard, 's story you will get an idea how good wang kam lung is. Brogard and Puy Lee were top students in the Leung ting lineage , both had been with that organization for 10 years but switched when they visited his school in Hong Kong and ave him a try in chi sao and got totally dominated, then tried out a student with only 4 years experience and the same thing happened. Brogard then switched to wan kam leung and was teaching a small school and traveling to hong kong for a month or so every year for intensive training. He said that after about 4 or 5 years his skill got significantly better and he was hoping that this time he could give wan kam lung a little bit of a hard time, but although he did much better against the other students but against wan kam leung he was shut down every time just as easily. When he complained wan kam leung told him he was a talented beginner, he protested that after 10 years before and 5 years after he joined up how could he still be a beginner and wan kam leung said, sorry, that's what you are.
Hi There , i did wan kam Leung Style about 10 years .. i can tell the structure and Timing are Key in this lineage.. all the Training Partners you See in that Clip are already high Grade Wing Chun guys the big one in black yellow Shirt is one of wan kam Leungs students which also is bjj black belt.. outstanding in this lineage they do Sparring on a regular basis.. cheers

Trust me when I tell you until you feel master wan it is inconceivable just how good he is and how much he has advance the system of wing chun, there is a reason why master Wong gave him the status as the only person to advance his fighting system and even gave him a certificate saying that. The best person in this country hands down is Anthony kan, I trained under Clive potter and Anthony kan wsl Wong shun leaug system Anthony Kan was master wongs interpreter. You can’t even stand in front of wan kam leung it’s crazy. To say he looks good is a joke. The bigger guy is a good student along with a German guy called Juergen who is his top student from Germany he is better than Philip bayer, who I had gau sau with, you can’t compare Philip bayer to master wan or anyone else. The reason why the big guy is trying to root like that is because master wan truly affects your balance like that, you can’t do nothing. You don’t have a concept of how good his prying force and his ling gin is unworldly. I am telling you, he would beat with ease any wing chun practitioner in the world Gary lam. Anthony kan even went to Hong and trained with him and was saying how good he is. Go to one of his seminars and feel him and you realise there’s a big difference between perception and reality guy is truly on a different level and how he has developed wing chun is masterful, his locks and trips and kicks even leaves Wong shun Leung art behind. Masterful stuff I wish I could just train with this dude
The ideal fighting is to take advantage of your opponent's weaknesses and he done this well. The big guy was experienced but didn't do well against a professional artist.
I appreciate your insights but...you do the same thing everytime you review...a Wing Chun master ..you claim there is no pressure being applied..you said the same thing about Phillip Bayer. What you don't understand is these guys can't apply pressure because as soon as they touch hands with these masters there structure is broken, you can't see it in a video but you can feel it when you chi sao or spar with them. Once the structure is broken there speed and suprerior body mechanics overwhelms there opposition
