Wandering around Salinas Pueblo Missions 24Aug 

Our day trip to Sunflower 🌻 Festival and exploring one of the Salinas Pueblo sites, “Quarai” which was a thriving Pueblo in 1598 when the Spanish arrived. We wandered around the church and “convento”. There are un-excavated kivas and large pueblos surrounding the church. “Salinas” means salt flat in Spanish and there are intermittent salt lakes to the east of the pueblos. 🏜️
