This man's voice😭😭.top class vocalist. He wrote all his top class songs and wrote for other artists. Pure original talent. Few have that ability to be a great vocalist and a great song writer. Very few.
I love this song being on the B side of All night long and kept playing this on the jukebox and it got just as many plays as All night long did. They should have made this a AA SINGLE
Funny I just came to listen to this song because I dreamt it. I'd never sang the lyrics but I did in the dream and shocked myself how heart piercing they are. In the dream we were making a 70s storyline video. A young collage man is singing it to a young girl walking away from him mad and he's singing it running into the subway. She's holding her books in her chest. Somehow in the video I skip the "I love you" bridge. But i spend time interpreting the string verse. She continues walking away into a crowd while he boards a bus full of excited college kids. One of them plays the strings verse while the main character soaks it in with flashes of his love running into the crowd crying until she sits on road curbe and continues sobbing. Very blissful dream 😢😢 for a great love song.
