i know what you mean with the sofa. it's like petting your cat or dog backwards and the fibers lighten or darken depending. good comparison

I have a sagoo travelers journal which is similar to the midori standard size. It is so smooth and creates a beautiful patina. All inserts are compatible.

I have the Wandering Grande and love it. The manly leather description is spot on😂. I don’t worry about my cockatiels destroying it or making tiny bite marks unlike a very fancy looking journal.

one more thing. I'm no expert but i think while that thing might also be a pen holder, i've read elsewhere that it helps with keeping the journal shut. also looks like it would prevent the band from digging in also i bet that's much easier to grab at than the band itself for a guy like me without long fingernails. when i try opening the Midori, i struggle a bit to get that band open

If you had to pick one, midori or wandering?

is the leather on the midori different than wanderings? from pictures midori appears to have a more glossy finish outside, or are they the same
