Here is my review of the Wandrd PRVKE 21L . What is your favourite travel camera backpack ? Time stamps: Comfort - 1:27 Size - 1:49 Features - 2:12 Quality - 5:30 Use during long periods of time - 5:43 Things that could be improved - 6:02 Cheers, Flo
EPIC EPIC EPIC Video!! I bought my Prvke 21L because of this review! You guys should submit it to Wandrd because I don’t think I’m the only one who pulled the trigger after this video
My god that bag looks epic, seriously i've looked at hundreds and they are either ugly or totally impractical, I need one to fit my 1Dxii body and everything else and most of them i've seen struggle to fit a small camera body, I'll definitely check this out!! Sweet video as well, you absolutely nailed it, keep up the amazing work my friend!
I am torn between this backpack and the Brevite Jumper backup. I know this one has more capacity and more suitable for travel, while the Brevite is more for daily use. I just don't want to have two camera backpacks. Both looks really good. Thanks for your review!
Hi, awesome review, especially the visuals 😍 I am Australian and my husbad is French, I'm looking for the perfect day pack to travel Europe next year. So my question is, do you think roll top style backpacks are secure against pick pocketing? It's another level there, nothing like Aus!
Thank you!! These bags are great for travel, I have been travelling everywhere with them for years Europe included. The roll top is secure since you have the big buckle to close it and you would definitely feel it if someone was to try to undo it. Plus you also have velcro to maintain the top without the buckle. These bags don't draw a lot of attention either :)
Great video! As usual, and I really love your work! (especially the Rome vid you made recently) just wondering though, what song was used in the background?
Hey there ! Thanks for the great content you produce, you answer a lot of my late questions ! Concerning that bag, I wonder if the BMPCC6k Pro would fit in ?
@Jannis Von der Heyden I went with the PRVKE 31 and the essential cube. Although the height is fully utilized, it offers decent space for BMPCC 6K Pro and a gimpel. The PRVKE 21L could work, however I do not want to scratch my BMPCC 6K Pro enclosure. The MacBook would be very close on top of the camera body.
@@tombinroth thank you for your feedback on the PRVKE 31. I may consider buying it as a smaller, more compact carrying solution when I don't need the HEXAD Duffle Bag.
Thanks so much !! Yep no problems 👍And no, it isn’t fragile at all. I’ve used it with a MacBook Pro and iPad Pro at the same time and it felt very secure 😊
Thank you for a nice review. Could you please comment on rain cover, do you actually using it? If I got it right, the backpack itself is weather proof, why to get rain cover then? Please do more cinematic movies, you inspire people like me to go handheld (still in doubt though! :) )
Thanks for watching !! I haven't used it yet. The rain cover is for when the weather really turns bad or when you know you'll be under the rain for long periods of time like for example if you get stuck when hiking etc. Thanks for the support :) !!
Thanks for the review, it's great. I own an Olympus OMD MII with two lenses, the M. Zuiko 12-40 1:2.8 Pro & 40-150 1:2.8 Pro. The 21 model will be OK for me, but should I choose the essential camera cube or the mini one for my gear? Thanks in advance!
Nice review! 👍 The bag looks nice. It looks way better than my VINTA which has awful straps. Have you tried any backpacks for rigged video gear? The main problem is that these bags are more towards photo and thus requires breaking down and building up the rig multiple times. I have looked on-line at Tenba Cinelux backpacks, but are there other types?
Thanks !! I have the 31L version too and have used it for a series a of documentary with a full C200 kit and lenses and it was great. Also took it to Antarctica for a video job, again full BMPCC6K kit and lenses with a Eos R on top of that. The 21L is great for photo and small video job and the 31L for proper video work.
thanks for the great review! did you have to remove the camera cube at the bottom in order to utilize the side access panel? I'm a bit confused as to how this could work
Thanks !! No you can use the side panel with the cube inside. What you can also do is slide the cube's side panel flap inside the bag's one so it is secure. I just put the cube inside as I use the side access very rarely :).
Looks brilliant, but at the same time too small - primarily the camera cube. Need/want it to fit a 5D and the essentials (16-35, 24-70, 70-200), some square filters, and a change or two of clothes. Saw the Nomatic/Peter McKinnon collab and it looks genuinely perfect, but at £400+ plus for the lot import 30% import to here in Norway it's just out-of-this-world expensive for a preorder. Can't find anything that's on par, dying for it!
Cheers
It was a great review, thank you. I am currently trying to decide between the 21l and the 31l version. I don't want to run into the issue of having a too-small backpack if my gear gets extended with a drone for example. But I am a short (170cm) and slim guy and I don't want a huge backpack. My idea was to buy a 21l photography bundle with the essential camera cube but also buying the pro camera cube which makes of the bottom and top part a big photography backpack "only". Just fo the days when I need to put more gear in. I am not sure though if I will be happy with this solution. It's also pricey but that's not the main reason. What do you suggest, since you guys are having both for almost a year.
Super review. I'm torn between 21L and 31L. Would a single C100 fit in the smaller camera cube? My only resistance to the 31L is potential airplane issues.
Thanks !! You mean airplane issues as in the size of the bag ? The 31L is under the limitations, I just took it on an overseas shoot and it was more than fine. I would pick the 31L for the C100 :)
Great vid! Do you think a mavic 2, mirrorless camera (Fuji XT3) with 1 normal size Lens and 1 additional lens would fit in the small camera cube? I'm also torn between the 21L and 31L
The Mavic would fit at the top and the 2 mirroless and lenses should in the cube no problem. If you are torn go for the 31L, not that much more expensive and heaps of room.
I love the design of the bag and everything it offers. But I was wondering if the backpack would be also suitable for game developers? Like I have a 15.4 inch laptop with a drawing tablet that is around 17inch and I have to carry with me the chargers of both with the pen and the mouse. Would you guys still recommend it ?
When you look around for quality backpacks it’s actually decent value. Most of the camera and travel bags we own are far more expensive. So definitely worth it :)
They ship to Europe from UK. I don't remember paying shipping fees. And no customs fees either. But it was slooooow and the tracking really sucked, though, but wandrd's customer service was willing to help and ship another one if it had taken longer to get news from the transporter. Cool. I've enjoyed it ever since I received it...
I was between this, Dayfarer, Errant, Lowepro BP 450, and I finally went for the Wandrd Duo, which hasn't been released yet, but I got hyped and damn, it domes out in december, I´m wondering if I should had come for this one instead... I just wanted to carry a Macbook pro 13", an iPad pro 12", a nintendo switch within his case, some clothes and ofc a regular size camera and lenses, do you think all that will fit in there? Anyways, I don't know if keep with the pledge on the Wandrd duo or cancel it and get any of the mentioned bags or the PRVKE.
I have used the bag with the Ronin S. Either on the side as a whole or just the battery and feet on the side and the gimbal part at the top of the bag.
For such an expensive bag the durability is terrible. I've had mine for a year and it's pretty much coming to pieces - the zip broke yesterday so I cant even fasten properly, the zip flap that covers the camera cube is torn, the padding on the inside back has worn off, the PU material gets really dirty really fast etc. In need of a new bag NOW but I defo wont be going with WNDRD again.
So sorry to hear! I have had multiple ones for years and no issues so far. You should reach out to them as I think they could definitely help you out :)
Thanks !! You mean the actual front pocket ie the one on the outside ? Not too sure about this, depends on the Weebil Config you have. And Yes it does fit the 16 inch MBP, without a case of course :).
I need help pls. I would like to buy the 31L but I don't think my laptop fits. Laptop dimensions are 36x28x2.5 cm, can anyone check if it fits in the laptop compartment? Thanks!
Yep, I use the 31 litter on jobs since I carry quite a bit of gear but they are basically the same. The 21L is an awesome bag and the one I use the most for sure :)
if using only one bag for travel (without camera equipment), would your girlfriend recommend the 21 or 31? how much taller do the bags get if you extend them all the way?
WAIT. The camera cube is an addition? My Marmot backpack is 💣 proof and it cost $50. It’s been around the world with no sign of wear......I’ll just buy a cube and go about my day. These bags are way overpriced.
Haha each to their own. I own several hiking/outdoor backpacks and they all have their use but for travel AND camera gear really can't find anything better. Cheers
Great content! These are really cool backpacks. I know a summer backpack called ACOOL that has electric fans and is going to indiegogo. Maybe you want to check that out.
Where are the reviews of travel bags like this for a more typical camera setup? There are millions of people who travel with one camera and like to take pictures and every review of these bags is just jamming expensive gear in. Does the bag work well for an amateur who wants quick access to a mirrorless but also wants to carry clothing and personal items?
I dont know... this bag looks like a logistical nightmare. So many pockets that add bulk and with 90 degree angled quick access zippers? How quick? Velcro galore, likely to scare all wildlife within 15 mile radius. Why does the rolltop remind me of a limp, wet mop with velcro all over? Using it is an exercise in self punishment. Tarpaulin is heavy and hard to keep clean. Rainfly is needless bulk for a rolltop bag constructed from waterproof materials unless seams or construction not reliably waterproof. I went for the f-stop dyota 20, for the premium, reliably waterproof construction/materials and sensibly minimalistic design. Hate that its so boxy but its perfectly suited for hard urban use.
Haha ok, this is very specific. All I can say is that I used F stop bags for 2 years and had 2 of them and decided the sell both because the Wandrd worked better for my video kit, photo kit and also to use as casual bags or with little amount of gear. The Wandrd are supper light, only a few pockets, and are a lot more comfortable. The only thing I like more about F stops are the ICU which I kept. I shot in Antarctica, all over Europe, NZ etc doing a mix of wildlife, city, doco work, commercials etc, all the the 31L and never felt the need to upgrade :).
@@OfTwoLands Thanks for the reply. Ya no bags are perfect and I get pretty passionate about them lol. I am just an enthusiast who shoots for fun, but if accessibility and modular organization is pretty crucial to my enjoyment when out shooting. That square zipped quick access pocket just kills it for me since ive got a small m4/3. You've got amazing content and even this video was really well put together. Glad it works out for you!
Thanks for this review!! Just one question because I'm not sure if I understood something properly... Is it possible to remove those two compartment and leave it flat/empty? Something like to keep books (one of the use it would be to go to the school)
Why is every fricking camera rucksack I look at cost as much as a second hand car?! Seriously😳..... Eye watering price's.... In todays climate not everyone can spend over £150 on a fricking camera bag... But of course 🤣 people with decent RU-vid channels get them for free 😄 it's hilarious. Then married men with two children & a house to upkeep etc are expected to pay this amount for it.. 👍 Great stuff... 🤔
When you put between $3000 and $10000 worth of gear in it, it doesn't seem to be that much. And to be honest this bag is on the lower end when it comes to price.. If you want support, protection against the elements and internal compartments this what you have to pay. A normal backpack would still cost over 100 so makes sense that a camera bag costs more.. Thanks for watching :)
