the music of the 80's to 90's are class of it's own. Up till today, the clubs r still playing songs like Blue Monday n Let's Go. I m just glad that i grew up in that era of Top of The Pops. Now, i recreate those happy days on bass guitar. Yeah!
They played this song during the first time out a WARRIORS playoff game vs the jazz in Apr 1987. We didn't all know the lyrics, but WE all SCREAMED the chorus!!
That's the 80's in summation! So exciting - So special in every which way - So Hot 🔥 & just showcasing w/ Confidence & Positivity - we WON the COLD WAR vs the Russians!! There wasn't a time when I grew up in the 1970's & 80's that grim reaper wasn't there: we(US citizens) feared the ATOMIC BOMB!! Yes, @ anytime Russia 🇷🇺 could start(Not US) a Nuclear Holocaust like the world had Never seen...So when the United States bested Russia there was a huge euphoria that was let loose - Wang Chung's uplifting Positivity in Art expressed such a Victory over the terrible Negativity of our Nemesis and the joy of expressing it in music 🎶
This takes me back to my senior year of HS. Damn. This should have done much better than it did. 22 years later it still makes me tap my feet! Thanks for posting.
Just watched the official music video and now listening to this, which I guess is slightly higher fidelity. I had forgotten this song since the 80's until tonight I remembered it.
Oh man this song just popped into my head and I couldn't get it out. I wished I could meet a man who can say these things to me, and mean them and they are real. :D Great song!!!!
I was only 11 years old...I listened to Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Nu Shooz, Jane Child, A Ha, Ice House, Wang Chung , all these great artists on a AM Radio, I still have that radio as a great suvenir and my treasure !
For those wondering, the musicians are lead vocalist-guitarist-keyboardist Jack Hues; additional lead and backing vocalist-bassist-guitarist-keyboardist Nick Feldman; backing vocalist Ina Wolf, Joe Pizzulo, Julia Waters, Kevin Dorsey, Michael McDonald, Oren Waters, Phil Perry, Phillip Ingram, and Siedah Garrett; drummer-keyboardist-synclavier player-choir voice artist Peter Wolf; alto saxophonist-tenor saxophonist Otmar Klein; baritone saxophonist Herbert Graf; soprano saxophonist-alto saxophonist-tenor saxophonist Harry Sokal; and trumpeter Hannes Kottek.
Jimmy Casebolt Yeah there are a lot of stations that play 80s stuff, but they usually stick with the mega hits and skip over golden gems like Let's Go.
james williams what is often lacking today is originality and just a sincere love of music it's obvious this duo had that in abundance!!! ENJOY THE EVENING!!
