I will tell you the reason for that. The reason is that when you work at a fuel station, many of them, especially in Asia, has a car workshop. On top of that, by being employed you get some small benefits and special prices for car parts you buy in to upgrade and fix your car with. But the most important thing is, you get to learn a lot about cars, see many cars that stop by and refuels. Often you'll meet other street racers and talk about their cars and common passion/hobby. You get to learn a lot about cars by just talking to the various car owners that stop by. That is if your open and forward enough to talk to people you don't know. So you get to meet other people with similar interest also making it easier to maybe arrange some races in the future if you challenge them and you happen to have an interesting car or some reputation. NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW ANY OF THIS AS IM TOTALLY NOT DOING ANYTHING ILLEGAL DURING MY SPARE TIME.

Interesting parallel in both the Initial D and Wangan Midnight animes: Tatsuya Shima, A.K.A: Blackbird, was voiced by Shinichiro Miki, who also voiced Takumi Fujiwara in Initial D. The original Akio Asakura (Eriko's brother) was voiced by Tomokazu Seki, who just happened to voice Keisuke Takahashi in Initial D. Furthermore, Shima & Asakura and Takumi & Keisuke are rivals in their respective series. Just cool little tidbit I wanted to point out.

Its crazy to me how many times this goes over people's heads, but the Devil Z is haunted. It wasn't Akio's fault he crashed, the Z tried to kill him. At 23:08, the Z turns towards the barriers, despite Akio turning the wheel right.
Is it not possible to enjoy both highway battles and mountain drifting? Initial D is the drifting anime, wangan is the highway battle anime, and Capeta is the track racing anime. They differ in the same way cars themselves differ. Some suited for drifting, some for highway battles, and some for track racing. Even if you could argue some kind of objective superiority (Which I don't think you can, everything is subjective), how does that make you a better person than the other guy?

First off, in an S30 chassis you sit fairly behind the center line of the car, so adding a second person into the car would add a higher percentage of weight over the back. Also, weight distribution matters side to side, not just front to back, and for a car built for these kinds of speeds, there would most likely be some ballast to account for the driver, therefore a passenger would throw the weight distribution off slightly towards the passenger side. But in the end, this is a joke comment on a youtube video of a Japanese cartoon about street racing, so really, who gives fuck?
I mean yes it would affect the power/weight ratio, but that wouldn't cause him to wreck. Having a passenger would throw off the balance compared to what he was used to, which might cause the car to handle slightly different and possibly causing him to wreck. Again, it was a joke.
It’s not supposed to.. it’s an anime and the car takes controls on that corner everytime, he’s driving a car with its own soul so this car wouldn’t handle like every other car.
Just found out about this anime from random youtube tangents, glad I did. Takes me back to the dreamcast days and playing Tokyo Extreme Racer. Plus the main car is my all time favorite car, love a nice blue 240z. Side note. I had a 86 300zx and saw a perfect blue 240z for sale just down the block from my house, years ago. Guy wanted $6k USD for the near mint Turbo, I got a loan from a friend and went to talk to the guy again, Z was gone. Teh heart ache!

Where I'm from there is a car like the Z, a red 77 Trans Am, each owner of the car died and it now bears the plate of F1R3BRD, u see it almost every night exceeding 210 MPH when i drive home from Chicago, my uncle owned the car in 93, died in a wreck where the car disappeared overnight from the scrap yard it was in.
The rear partial side window is a little too large in back, and makes it look like a 2+2. I wrecked mine a little bit here and there, and I knew that the metal is thin and hard to access, especially the rear end unibody. If you crash the hood and front end up, you have to reweld the hood stay area and get a new set of the lift scissors on both sides, that get sprung out from it. If you crash them once really hard, that is it. He would be doing a lot of cutting, hammer work and welding to keep it intact. He would have to remove and send out or replace the front end every thin he hit something. There's no training montage yet for it. Mine steered pretty well, but was unforgiving about where you took it. It turned on an axis just a little behind the transmission.

Suspension’s one of the most important things you could possibly upgrade. I didn’t even get coils, I just got better springs and better shocks and my car’s cornering speed increased by 15mph
Interesting so far, not sure how it'll go. A part of me is hoping it ends up being something like the Z being a lot like the Grim Reaper R32 from Initial D, only instead of the driver, it's the car with murderous intent. I think that would be pretty awesome. Only have to hope this whole "It wasn't the Z's fault, I made a mistake" bit doesn't last.
