Im a flight attendant for a legacy carrier, and they prefer people who has never worked at another airline. I am 6'2 so if you want to get hired you need to apply for an airline that doesn't fly regional Jets. If you don't think you will get hired at a legacy carrier. Airlines like Spirit Frontier and JetBlue will hire you if you are tall.
Valerie Kiser your odds are higher with low cost carriers like Spirit, Frontier and Jetblue, because they are smaller and growing at a fast rate, and usually have higher turnover so they are always hiring. Legacy carriers are a little harder due to the fact that hundreds of thousands of people apply. So Delta United American and Southwest are the most desirable by people because their work rules and pay are better and have low turnover so your odds are smaller, but if I was you I would apply at all of them, because you might be the lucky one. I've been flying for 11 years and all I did was applied everytime that they was hiring.
I love this career and the company but I do not like the hiring process, asseesment questions, video interview, those are so bad¡ I am sure almost nobody likes it. What I would recomend (after checking the resume of the candidats) is to send an invitation to the face to face interview in every city you have a hub or in very important and big city in the US, so you do not have to fly people to Houston or Chicago. One more time, the current hiring process is horrible horrible horrible.....

Chris: Regional airlines are a great place to start off your airline career and then you can proceed to the legacy airlines once you have acquired enough work experience. Also the competition for getting hired by the legacy airlines is VERY stiff!!
