Bravo - as someone who is career successful, it’s nice to see someone break down how to gain career success in a realistic fashion. And everything you said was solid. There are way too many RU-vidrs who’ve never done shit in a career sense trying to tell everyone to go out on their own.

Im a business starter and you can do it but Ill say its NOT for the faint of heart. Its for someone that loves both creativity and a grind.

I like the point of what you said about the true meaning of job, and I totally agree that it isn't about making money, is about acquiring skills, experience and slowly get better at it; and one day you may find some issues in the industry that you've been working on, that need to be tackled, and with the experience that you have, you will have a clear idea of where the business that you about to create, would go, and increase the chances of your business's sustainability. Plus, jobs also shows how you do your tasks even as small as sorting out some paperwork, from that you can learn more about yourself, and see how you can get better at it, and reduce the chances of making plenty of errors when you try to start your own business. Cuz, How you do little things, is how you do everything.

Hate to break it to you, but you can just as easily get fired for doing too good of a job. I found that out back in the 80s. I worked extremely hard, got promotions faster than coworkers and created a lot of enemies,which led to them working overtime to get rid of me because I made them look bad. The last two jobs I had working for others, I went in, completely revamped my working area and cleaned and reorganized everything around me, making my job more profitable for both companies. As soon as I had fixed all their problems I was let go. That taught me working for others was not my path. Got any other bright ideas?

Being a millennial, I’ve heard all of these tropes innumerable times. This video does a great job reforming well intentioned advice into good advice.

I flipped houses for a business (3 houses) didn't pay attention to taxes and fees till the last house. First page 13 grand gone to taxes and fees so I gave up after that. It was a good learning experience because I always learn the hard way.

Great video. I appreciate that it’s a mix of tips as well as a roadmap. I’m a software engineer but can’t see myself ever being one of the best, so I’m currently brainstorming other opportunities for the future. This was helpful.

Closing on my first business acquisition this month. Been searching for nearly two years with equity partners. Despite your feedback about going into an industry you’re familiar with, I’m not doing that. I’ve worked as a consultant in the tech industry and to help with the transition, I have a mentor who came from a similar background and operates a successful company in the industry I’ve bought into. Time to grind!

He did say rich not wealthy. So do what you want with that but the only way the 99% can free themselves is opening a business and not slaving a job. The game monopoly came out the same time 1933 banking act was passed and forced Americans to turn their gold in for federal reserve notes. If you open a business you open yourself up to numerous tax loopholes that working a job won’t. The key is to pay as less taxes you can. 🔑

I’ve only seen 3 videos, but I love your advice. I realized I implemented a few of the things you describe. My issue is I listen to the wrong people who don’t know what my journey is and so those people - being on a different journey - feel that my journey wasn’t as important. I had to get rid of those people and continue on my journey. I’m so glad I found you. And you help fill in those cracks I don’t know how to fill. 🙏🏼✌🏼😇 My super power is artist (graphics, fine artist, illustrator)

I've been so busy listening to your other channel I've neglected your main :) I love the idea of leaning into your strengths. I've always been good at almost everything. But there are only two things I've ever gone all in on and that's sales and meditation and those two, especially the latter are where I'm more knowledgeable than most.

Thank you for your video, I don't think I will get (yet) to the part of buying a business but the part of knowing your superpower, it's interesting and worth trying. Most of the time people don't know what they are good at and you are right, passion is fueled by results.

Thank you for this video. I needed to hear this refreshing perspective on the value of doing work for other people. We get so many stories on needing to jump in blind and get rich by being an entrepreneur, that it started to affect me as well. Not having any business idea, but at the same time hearing all the time that you need to start one, causes me great anxiety often. This video has somewhat aleviated these concerns, and made me realise that I'm in no rush. No need to compare myself with others, and better focus on improving myself and my skillset. And I definitely need to step out of my comfort zone to build social capital as an introvert.

Great video, I am 17 and looking into different ways I can build wealth, I feel that I have decent capabilities in social media space(RU-vid and TikTok) and teaching things to people. But will definitely take your advice to ask friends and family

This was the push I need to break the cycle in my generation of living paycheck to paycheck. I was thinking of starting my own llc but buying a business sounds smarter than dealing with past and present liabilities. Hey Anthony, Just wanted to drop you a note of gratitude after watching your video. It was a real eye-opener for me. Listening to you, I realized how much aesthetics, imagery, creativity, and imagination were my natural talents. I've always had a knack for appreciating beauty and the aesthetic, but I never fully realized it until recently,after buying an e-commerce course wich contained modules on graphic design. I was at a major crossroads, torn about whether to continue towards ecommerce or to follow the path of graphic design. I did research on that topic specifically 3 days ago,wondering if I could make it as a freelancer without any background nor formal education in this field. Your insights made me realize how much this path resonates deeply with my innate qualities, something I've overlooked for too long. It also showed me that it is possible without necessarily getting a degree. Thanks to you, I've made my choice in this significant dilemma. Been looking into it and came to same conclusion ... depending on circumstances obviously. If you have a job you could try starting your own business on the side and grow it over a longer period of time. However if you do not have that luxury, starting a business takes too long to reach a point where it's profitable AND you can pay yourself a living wage - best buy an existing business. It's more expensive, but faster, and your living wage is already there. Up to you to then grow it, expand, or start something else on the side.

As a software developer, becoming a freelancer isn't that difficult. Freelancing is a business. And it encourages you to promote yourself and develop your social capital. You have the choice to scale and hire employees and freelancers or remain solo. I'd argue starting freelancing business as a software developer is easier than many other forms of businesses (including real estate) because lower capital requirements, you have more control, and you can focus mostly on things you already know. Save up your money and then put it into some ETFs, and then let the capital gains ans and dividends help your money grow. Once you've got too much money and looking for the next challenge, then consider buying real estate or some other private business.

I almost forgot this is even an option. It sounds so damn good and it's way easier than going through the hustle of starting a business. Great insight. Thanks Anthony!

Loving this video man. I know this might sound selfish, but i want to see a video with your deeper perspective about college. I am currently going for Computer Science, but currently working as an IT technician for the school as a part time. My mother who is a professor at a university enjoys the video that you create, but she disagree with you on the college part. Then again she loves teaching so that is why she doesn't see anything wrong with college or university, but it would be interesting to see a deeper dive perspective about colleges / universities / education system video. But whatever you post, I will keep watching because I get something out of every video. Keep up the awesome work !!!

From experience (training to become an Occupational Therapist), passion is needed for motivation when things go wrong. You cannot succeed unless you have either passion or desire (which is helped by passion). The lessons from 'Think and Grow Rich' are the real deal - I experienced this myself BEFORE I ever read that book.

Nice video, really well explained. Unlike you, I have more experience in technical areas, electrical and mechanical maintenance, civil construction, carpentry and also finance as a trader and investor. I spent the last year learning a new art at an air conditioning company where thanks to my maintenance knowledge I meet and interact with people who are outstanding and well off financially on a weekly basis. I feel like this puts me on the right path to achieving my goals.

Starting a business / being an entrepreneur is a good idea, you get a bird's eye view right from the start since you're the founder! It's tough work, so is working for the man..but at least you own everything, all the intellectual assets belong to you, rather than the company - instead of building up someone's else's business! Like I always say "Just mind/run your own business!"

Well im really good at analyzing stats and protocol in every aspect of a business or situation of life, when I work, I often see thing that need to be change and could bring a lot of money because the solution would save a lot of time/effort etc etc.. My father is an Industrial Engineer and did pretty much that for a dozen of years, he was engaged by company and bring 8-12% more money at the end of his contract (about half a year in general) and I realize that I was really good at that too and really love doing it!! only problem is, I don't see where I could find a company that could bring me knowledge of that skill.. well every company can bring me that skill the only problem is a entrepreneur that is willing to not firing me because i open my mouth on something that i shouldn't, or i could grind the echelon of the Job and being promoted and after start doing greater change!! I will definitely try that. Its been since 2016 i work as a cook, I'm studying for being a fire fighter in 5 years i will end up being one if everything go well!! might be able to up that skill in the 5 years!! I pushed and pushed for 15yrs working on two businesses that I started. 2021 came around and I just gave up and sold them off. They were making money but honestly it didn't justify the hours I was working, the taxes I was paying and the regulations that kept getting added each year. In hindsight I would have bought investment rental property outside of the US using a foreign created entity.

First of all, thumbnail, and title super catchy so good job at that. Second of all, i thought ull be all cocky like other creators who talk about finance, but you sound educated! My question to you, if i major in business, perhaps anything that can get me involved in a job, will the skillsets from that job pay off? Perhaps, ill be surrounded by like-minded people, maybe that will elevate me!? They all say college is useless, but i believe im able to get multiple streams of income, that will eventually lead me to starting my first business...sounds good? The reason i say college is because how can i get a job if i dont have a portfolio!!? Isnt thats what degrees are for?

Start a non-profit and get people to feel good when they give you money.

My super powers are marketing, graphic & web design. I had two printshop owners offer to sell me their business because they liked my work and I brought them business, and I turned them down because I thought there was no way I could afford it. I would have definitely improved on them because they were older and didn’t know all the ways their business could be incorporated into a larger marketing business. I didn’t even think of owner financing.

Doing a little research, I found a number of local brokers and discovered there are a sh*t ton of businesses for sale in this region that would be tremendous opportunities for the right person! Granted, I’m on my own entrepreneurial journey, but this is an incredible nugget of wisdom to hold. Totally expanded my knowledge of opportunities available that I can share with those in my network. I’m really good at flying planes and also a really good mid to long distance runner, and I can also learn things extremely quickly and perform them efficiently and I’ve also been very successful in a lot of leadership roles. What can I do with that? Edit: Also I’m still in high school and right now am hoping to become an airline pilot

My Superpower is my creativity. But that is just too general! I can play drums but that pays no money, unless you are Ringo Starr. However, I also do know how to write. A handicap for me is that I am not a native-English speaker. So I have to work on it a little harder. This is good. I never forget when my teacher put me down for a levels in double maths and physics. Hardest combination and I wanted to do humanities as I enjoyed them. The harder subjects got me into engineering and business. Far more in demand.

At first I thought my superpower was handy stuff or I’m a follower of someone. After so many years of trail and error on handy job and mandate following commanding from someone, I realise that I don’t really enjoy the process of under someone control. Turn out I much likely having my own autonomy in life and job, this is where I find I am a good listener and leader for someone under me. I guest my superpower are positivity mindset and power of influence someone who’re down and negative. I’m a Leader!

Great video! Unfortunately, I live 60km away from the nearest big city, so I don't have the opportunity to find a career with growth potential here. I can only look for remote work online and self-educate, which is less than ideal. But they say you have to make the best of what you have, right?

Just for your information, if you are a good donkey for your boss, he will usually not replace you but try to keep you in the exact same position. Do never try to be the best employee for your boss. Look for yourself, get the best out of the job and move on. I have 2 decades of workexperiences in international corporations. I find your tipp on that a bit controversial.

Saw the video and reading the comments i remembered i have a list with more than 30 ideas for business that i know i can do. Just now i added 2 more ideas that could work. I just hope that my dreams dont die and in the future i will see my list again and have the money and resources to start something, maybe buy a working business that i could use.

Heard about seller financing for business for the first time not too long ago. You painted a much more complete picture of exactly what that would look like and what it takes to get there. Thanks. By the way...building a business right now that I sunk $60k into so far. Just rehashing to make sure I understand right. Find your talents, build them, get a job doing that thing you want to build. Next, you're explaining the value in learning all the levels in that business firsthand, with no risk (since you're earning a paycheck). Not only that, you get contacts on every floor in that industry (and maybe even potential investors.) By the time you buy someone else's business, you'll know exactly how it works and how to run it. You even know what makes a good employee and can hire better, too. And you're making money from day once since the business already exists. In buying instead of starting from scratch, you skip the hardest part, the startup. The only real hurdle is coming up with the money to buy it, but after that, you're set. This is my first time hearing this strategy and I'm an amateur in every sense, but I know gold when I see it. I hate working for people with great passion, But I never realized it could be more than just a paycheck. Thanks for the lightbulb moment!!! Subscribed.

I like the way you reframe the way one should think about a job but unfortunately that doesn’t always shake out in reality. Your example for marketing sounds nice if you intend on creating your own agency a few years down the road, but a lack of formal education is going to be a huge barrier to growth for most companies in that sector, as unjustified or illogical as that may be.

I started a buisness and it made me rich. I started making 150 a day then i went up to 600 a day. I became a millionare in 3 years saving and investing.
