I remember the good old days whenever the mod first came out. Me and my brother would always play it together and spend all night and day playing it. The experience was so real and this was before you could buy guns so the experience was quality since you would be attached to your stuff. Then my brother went off to college and I have really no one to play with. It's almost 3 years or more now since DayZ has came out and I still play it. I've seen the best of DayZ and the worst, I have at least a hundred stories of DayZ for both the good and the bad. I would like to say that this game has changed my life with sounds really bad since its a video game and all but it got me and my brother closer and now we don't really see each other any more. I felt necessary to write this in honor of Frankie and DayZ for all the good memories and making them still happen. Thank you truly, you are true heroes.

Frankie is legitimately the reason I got into PC Gaming. Watching him play DayZ made me want to build a gaming rig. I work in I.T now because of it. Even if he is not uploading a whole ton he is still my favorite RU-vidr that always puts out quality content.

That doesn't change the fact they've scammed us. I can honestly tell you that the SA won't be at the same level as the mod for a least 4 or 5 years at the rate it's going. I uninstalled the SA and gave up on it a long time ago.
We were promised the game would be developed...It would take a competent development team maybe 2 months to do what the dayz losers have done in a year.
FRAKIE i am a full supporter of your channel, but there is one thing i would like to tell you, you are by far THE best DayZ youtuber ever, your don't kill on sight (your a hero), you know what your doing and you are by far the most entertaining youtuber out there with your smart and intelligent commentary mixed in with your own humor (which is very similar to mine) i have watched all your DayZ videos mmost of them up to 4-5 times over. That looks really cool, agree with you that boarding up windows etc would be great in Standalone. The debris in the road, such as the partial roadblocks, broken down cars, long grass growing in the concrete etc really seems to add to the immersion in this mod. I love the standalone but it always feels like time has stopped the day after the infection wiped everyone out. With fresh fruit everywhere and not much evidence of nature reclaiming the towns, it is improving though and the new hidden base is more overgrown. I think they are going to get there it is just taking longer than some expected. I know you've stayed away but I'd love to see a little video, perhaps 10-20 mins of you playing Standalone at some point. Perhaps once they have the 0.51 patch moved to stable as it is supposed to bring with it some improvements to performance. Thanks for the vid Frankie, the intro was amazing! PS any thought on trying 1080p 60fps? It may look better quality wise for more of your audience than 4k.
The devs have said that now they've almost finished expanding the north, they're going to go back to the original towns and villages to give them 'a more post apocalyptic feel'. I agree with you that it feels like you landed a day after the breakout at the moment but I'm sure this will be sorted out, just like they strive to fix the bugs. Oh... wait a minute....
You're right, I can't, because I never said 'ruin the gameplay', just 'bugs'. That said, just to appease you with 5 bugs anyway; 1= Sound glitches, silent shots, artifacts. 2= Random fractures / deaths from certain buildings / in-game assets. 3= Zombies spotting you through walls, buildings etc, they see you through anything. 4= Light sources not blocked by walls. 5= Rubber banding / de-sync issues. Although these don't 'completely ruin gameplay' they do have a detrimental effect on it and most of these things have been an issue since day one, even the mod in some cases. I just think adding vehicles should not take precedence over bugfixing, and most DayZ players will agree with me.
Dennis Nope Not yet. Right now, they are very easy to find, because the devs want the community to test them out and break them as much as possible. The V3S is very, very basic at the moment, with place holder sounds, animations etc, but its getting there. The devs have said that once the bugs have been squashed and the physics ironed out, vehicles will become much more rare.
My friend once had a conversation with me about having a really cool survival game where if you died in game you died in real life ( I think he got the idea from SAO but wont admit it) and continued to say he would love to play DayZ like this and he said "It would be intensely fun if we had a good form of virtual reality for total immersion" All I said was "You would be better off in call of duty, You would get killed less."
You seriously make the best intros I have ever seen no kidding man I don't know how long you need to do something like that with the pretty fucked up arma 2 engine but it really looks nice :D Keep it up with these Intros because they are really awesome ^_^
I asked my self a couple of times why the Arma 2: Dayz Mod series by Frankie had such a long gap between them until i watched this video and really realised that this is probably one of the most well made and detailed game series on RU-vid. Like seriously Frankie, i would rather watch this than The Walking Dead series! Keep it up man!
I agree it's worth the wait :) I just wish they the would merge the Standalone with the mod or something. Because then they can really focus more on the development. The mod is so good. The SA will be perhaps get close in a few years but by that time there will be so many other games out.
JPO DayZ Yep, I agree to 100 %, I really appreciate games with good graphics and textures and Dayz SA really do have that compared to Dayz Mod, so if Dayz SA will have the same possibilities as Dayz Mod plus the graphics and better FPS, I can assure you, it will be the game of the year, hands down!
Calle Carlsson I would dare to even say it would be one of the best games ever made if they would somehow merge the two games. That way they could focus on one game as well is instead of 2. I had this thought where they merged Arma 3, Arma 2 and the Standalone, obviously never gonna happen but it would be so cool.
Learn how to use the Dots on your scope, know the arma physics for bullet, in the end it isn't that hard. I will admit I will never be able to make the shots he does. But it's easy to take out a plane/chopper
crazybear2424 The guy on the fire station was using a KSVK by the sound of it which is an anti material rifle, 1-2 shots in the engine of a chopper and it goes down, all frankie did was spray at the gunner.

***** Dayz Mod is a mod. Dayz started as a mod, and is still a mod. That is Dayz mod. THen they made the standalone, which is a game of it's own. So yes, it's a modded version of a modded version of a modded version of a game. What you said made no sense.
tbh it probably wont ever be like this with alot of vehicles and such since the devs are going a more ''realistic'' approach even tho well dayz isnt exacly the most reaslistic game out there seeing as how zombies give zero phucks about doors.
They have vehicles in experimental right now!!! It keeps crashing, but hopefully they'll fix that before it updates. Check out commander pixels channel, he covers the vehicle. It's all working and good, just the crashing and shit. :P

civicsi2k the more you play the more you will notice anomalies in the map like that. Plus you come to realize where these...players, will camp, always up high on some mountain or building. I'm sad to say I have thousands of hours in dayz mod and spot this shit with ease, yes I need a life. :(

Dave hameetman just about all of the cool shit in this video,, its made by people that have and had nothing to do with the initial making of DayZ mod/ DayZ standalone.. most of the devs from the mod aren't even involved in standalone.. that's why its not the best, that and its only a partial game, not full yet

Frankie can you make a video showing us what you do to optimize your fps in dayz? I just got a graphics card and I get shit fps (about 20 outside of cities and 15 and less inside of cities) and I think a lot more people would appreciate it too

you can run this at high 720p if anything with these specs but like they say upgrade your ram. its better to have 4gb x 2 instead of a full 8gb.you want to use 2 slot to get better frames
You should be solid when it comes to running this game, I would have to with League when it comes to the RAM. It may be a bit much RAM but I'd just get another 8gb stick. Also be warned the game will run about 50-60 fps outside of cities and drop below 30 in cities.

there's different ways to make a Arma video. You can do motion capture in Arma editor with some scipts or using an actual 3rd party mod off armaholics, then you can use Sony Vegas or After affects to edit it into a movie after recording.
