While most Arda RU-vid channels are panegyrizing Beren and Lúthien today, I must say that I find myself especially appreciative of this excellent military analysis.

Can you do a video about why the Valar and the Elves seem to lose their physical strength and magical powers over time as the eras past and why Middle Earth and the other continents are affected the most? Tolkien does mention that in the Battle of Dagorath that the Valar are no longer at the peak of their strength as they used to and are a shadow of their formal selves.

I LOVE the use of the Rohan LOTRO soundtrack when Éorl is taking the Oath-very poignant! You’ve done the history of my people well😊 Sincerely, A real life Shieldmaiden of Rohan💚💛🐴

Honestly i much prefer u over other lore channels, u seem to bring good accurate lore with very few flaws that i have noticed, unlike other channels u go pretty deep into books like HoMe which is very fun to see

*I LOVE THIS!* *The pronunciations are unerring, but what is more important, you made sense out of the incomprehensible notes Tolkien left about this battle, and illustrated it beautifully!* *You just earned a subscriber!*

And during colonisation of Calenardhon, the Eothed driven out the peaceful population of Dunlendings.. I kinda get why they joined Saruman
@Antipius
@Antipius 3 года назад
"Peaceful" isn't really accurate. The Dunlendings were fierce enemies of the Dúnedain from the start! ...Though, that was justifiable too, as the men of the West treated the Dunlendings poorly and ravaged their lands and forests.

@@Antipius Dunedain (or Numenoreans) were kinda evil colonialists in the mid to late Second Age. They exploited native man (most often Haradrims and Middle Man (ancestors of man of Bree, Dale, Dunland and even Rohan) That’s why natives from Enedwaith, Ered Nimras and Eriador hated Dunedains after Numenor downfall. Numenoreans were basically Spain conquistadors in 16th century

@@untitled568 Very true! ....Were the men of Dale and Rohan descendants of the Middle Men? I thought they were purely northmen, as a separate entity

@@Antipius From what I understand the men of Middle Earth were divided into three houses (let’s say it was based on development of nations) First were descendants of Numenor : Arnor dunedain, Gondor Dunedain, Men of Dol Amroth (and probably even Black Numenoreans of Umbar) Second were Middle Men, who most often weren’t allied with Sauron : Dunlendings, Northmen, native Eriador and Gondor men and also men of Bree Third ones were basically servants of Sauron : Easterlings, Balchots, Wainriders, Men of Khand, Southrons Other nations I don’t know how to classify are Lossoth and Hobbits

This is awsome Also I've been wondering like what if middle earth was in the ideal position to go against Sauron.My idea is like if both humanity the elves and dwarves were all at there prime during the war of the ring and sauron also at his prime during the war of the ring.This ideal scenario for middle earth would mean beleriand is still above the waves the dwarves still have Moria because the Balrog was like "fuck this shit I'm out"and went to mordor and to make things fair numenor was still sunk however most of the population was faithful and fled to make gondor and Arnor and the elves would not be going west at this point in time instead fighting along side middle earth(Arnor would of probably claimed the lands of beleriand along with its normal territory).This scenario is what I like to call the Ideal timeline because Gondor I think once claimed the sea of Rhùn and ruled over the Easterlings so I'd say the Easterlings would be on the side of middle earth.Id also imagine that both umbar Harrad and possibly far Harrad would be on the side of middle earth because well numenor.Though to keep things fair we will say sauron controlled everywhere else east of Rhùn Making greater and greater hoards of orcs trolls and other such beasts in those lands(also the ents would have the entwives back because this is the ideal scenario and I wanna make a Joke about the ent wives having a spa day in the sea of Rhùn).So how do you think the scenario would play out?would sauron be able to win due to all the more space he has beyond the sea of Rhùn to create monsters or would middle earth win due to the fact every kingdom and race is in there Golden age along with the fact Rhùn,umbar,Harrad and far Harrad are on the side of middle earth also going through a golden age.
