@@UnWrittenKatsu Just in Iron Man 2 In 3 it was an entirely different suit developed by Tony Stark. Since then War Machine has a new Suit in about every movie he's in, just like Tony.

To a point, he's great at wiping the floor with large number of mooks. But against the big baddie war machine has to take a back seat (uness the power scaling in the MCU is dialed back). I don't think war machine would last too long against another Thanos level threat.

Fact: Visions beam is nowwhere near powerful enough to penetrate WM's armour. The movies do whatever they want with the characters.

I mean, the thing is, Iron Patriot has the same pilot as the War Machine suit. So that kind of nitpickery is like saying Hulkbuster isn't Iron Man.

'War Machine' didn't sound 'good' or 'heroic', it just sounded like some weapon of mass destruction that existed like an ever-deployable nuke, so the government just renamed it to the 'Iron Patriot' instead to appease the people. It's still the same machine, just with a different spray-paint and a nickname, like calling a Pokemon 'Pika' instead of 'Pikachu'.

Iron Patriot is just War Machine with a different paintjob.

@@LTG550 Iron Patriot isn't the MK2 suit tho? War machine is just Tony's Mk2 suit that the military modified with more guns and armor. I don't recall if Iron Patriot is the same further modification of the Mk2 or if it's an entirely new suit reverse engineered off the obsolete Mk2.
