Sort of like ‘’Lost in Space’’ without the camp idiocy. An improvement, though not by much. Still fun to watch.

"End-Game" is the real Italian post nuclear apocalyptic sci-fi classic - I saw it as child & it's rare to find or to get - but it's like an open air blade runner where survivors & weird mutants rule australia...the only way out is a secret place in the desert where some strange guys come with a helicopter to rescue a gifted child all are after & want to capture 90min of fun & excitement in a Mad Max style of envi eronment but with strange gangs of humans & mutants Or the 'Ice Pirates' - another sci-fi gem of my childhood hard to find it's an action-comedy-sci-fi movie I luckily found on DVD but unfortunately got lost with my ex-girl after I lend it to her & her then little son...just as Labyrinth with David Bowie - I thaught every child from age 6 on has to see...I didn't get one of those dvd's back & I'm sure the boy didn't even see 1 of them - what a waste!!

Wikipedia says this film earned 123,200,000 IT Lira in 1977. One USD = 883 Lira in 1977 (US government document). So this film grossed USD $139,524.35 (??). Was this worth it?

This is already quite a lively, colorful opera of space romanticism, influenced, apart from by 2001: A Space Odyssey, perhaps also by Edmund Cooper's novel Seed of Light and itself probably having influenced Nolan's Interstellar. Comparing this creation to the cinematic science-fiction concoctions of the 1950s and '60s, one begins to grasp how hard it must have been in those times, before the advent of noteworthy computer-generated imagery, to fill one and a half hours with space adventures in a manner allowing to entertain people older than five years. Compared with those earlier attempts, this here is already rather little boring, while it also still does not really fascinate. For a film of such a style and genre to become really fascinating, one apparently simply needs the ability to show anything on a movie screen which one can think of: detailed movements through spaceships hundreds of meters across, sharp shots of landscapes on planets of alien stars, outposts on the Moon and on other celestial bodies that have circumferences of several miles. It can sound noble to say that a recipient should focus on the idea, on the dramaturgical and psychological development, on the overall composition and alternation of the imagery (colors, geometry, contrasts, variation, etc.). These aspects have here been cared for already quite well, indeed, but you're still in a work which only anticipates a utopian cinematic art still awaiting us because it will also crucially have to be based on presentations of sharp shots of things which do not yet exist in our world. One can imagine such imagery in one's head when one reads the science fiction of those years (especially of the 1950s and '60s) in book form. Those responsible for War of the Planets will have experienced how fascinating such a consumption could be, attempting to translate it into the language of a movie.

Yeah, but what does that mean in English?

1:17:00 🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋 Where's the stock footage of eruptions from? 😂 Maybe Mount Etna? (Wikipedia) = "Other major 20th-century eruptions occurred in 1949, 1971, 1979, 1981, 1983 and 1991-1993. In 1971, lava buried the Etna Observatory (built in the late 19th century), destroyed the first generation of the Etna cable-car, and seriously threatened several small villages on Etna's east flank."
