That’s because they like him and want to work with him. Not everyone band leader is easy to get along with, especially the really famous ones who’ve let it go to their heads.
Over the course of last year I found Why can't we be friends, All day Music AND Very Best of War LP's at random thrift shops in SoCal. My sweet sweet happy ears and happy wallet.
They sound great!, & Lonnie's soulful voice is more funky then ever! I love this band, grew up in the 70's in Oakland CA. My Dad made sure I was hiped to WAR, their music would be blaring on Saturday afternoons 👈😎👍 those where great, & Happy Days.
Love this version with the current crew. Having said that, Harold Brown on this track carried the band beautifully on the double live album from the early ‘70s.
Been a big fan of War as a kid I love the song called Slippin Into Darkness Cisco Kid don't let anyone get you down lowrider and a whole host of others now if you listen to the song closely Slippin Into Darkness reggae thrown in just a bit I think Bob Marley would fit perfectly this one stand up for your rights anyone agrees with me put a thumbs up thanks
Phantastic Track and the Band plays tight. If i hear the original and then this live Version I am amazed how near to the orignal this Version is. And for the youngsters : this is REAL music ! oh man in these times there are so many STARS my dear they only look good. Stars ? Laughable...But where is the heart and soul ? This old musicians show you how to do !
I want to see you guys live!!! Wish you would come to Philly. I’m in S.Jersey, but Philly will do.. WAR was and will be one of the best bands around!!!!!
I love you guys, I saw you live here in Saint Louis, Missouri in 2012 with Foghat they were good you all were ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssso much better.
Take a little trip and see OriGinal WAR artists, Howard Scott, Harold Brown, Lee Oskar, BB Dickerson, of the Lowrider Band aka WAR without their WAR name. Peace and the OriGinal artists of WAR for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! facebook.com/LowriderBand
I like the original sounds "more groovy". This version is good. But the original version sounds like some dudes got together in the garage just jammin and came up with the music. Nothing planned or arranged, just jammin and next thing you know. Slippin in the darkness. Just sound so soulful
This might be "WAR" by name only with 1 original member...but if you really want to hear classic WAR you need to catch "The Lowrider Band". That band has the real members.
@@MrJones-em7ub You might know the back story but 1 original member of WAR Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan trademark the name and tour as "WAR". While the four other original members tour as the Lowrider Band. So if you want to hear the classic WAR sound catch the Lowrider Band,
@@MrJones-em7ub Keep trying lil buddy...I grew up in the Harbor projects with Pookie (son of Howard Scott) so been around those guys since the 80's. It's all good though, keep your chest up and go stand on a box and you might feel taller.
Here we Go when the Band War separated there was a disagreement so some band members decided to go there own way and came up with the conclusion in a contract that they were only allowed to perform the songs that were written by certain people in other words this war band that you are seeing now with one original band member in it he wrote certain tunes and the other band wrote certain tunes vice versa so when you see them perform live they can only perform certain WAR tunes!!!
WARong! The OriGinal artists of WAR at facebook.com/LowriderBand never left WAR. Their WAR name was taken from them in 1999, by WAR producer, Jerry Goldstein, so he could sell this band called "WAR", and not have to pay the other four WAR originals of the Lowrider Band their due. This song and many WAR songs were written by Howard Scott of the Lowrider Band aka WAR to true fans, but all seven WAR originals, and Goldstein, are credited on all WAR music. When WAR was a brotherhood, and they entrusted Goldstein with the legal stuff, but didn't realize they had a snake in their midst. Both bands can still play whatever WAR song they want, it's just wrong that the originals of the Lowrider Band aren't getting the WAR recognition and respect they deserve from WAR fans, just because a greedy producer stole their WAR name, and one original wants to live off the fame of the WAR name all by himself.
