I’m not even amateur but I fly low tier and this is great because I can learn from my mistakes in combat

At first I did not understand these things either. But the best thing to learn it to stick with one plane you like the most. Learn about it as much as you can. Watch tutorial vids, read a thing or two on wt wiki and also check what are the main types of foes you will be facing. Then apply learned strategies and you will be a protector of the skies 😂

Is it the best, though? While you're stuck at base the enemy team is free to complete the objective. My team won this match because after I refilled my cannon ammo, I went back into battle and took on a fight from a position of disadvantage.

When you set your gun convergence, you're not just setting how far away the bullets converge, but also how long of a distance across which they are nearly converging. For example, with convergence set to 600 m, from 300-900 m out I can guarantee that my bullets will be at least twice as tightly packed as if I had no gun converge set at all. Were I to lower my gun convergence range to 300 m, that span of tightly packed bullets would shrink to 150-450 m. In my mind, having a little bit tighter grouping isn't worth only having that tight spread across a smaller set of distances. My bullets are still plenty close together, even if they aren't right in top of one another.

I was simply missing my shots in the first clip. The cannon shells were lagging behind the target, not passing by either side of them.

I use mouse and keyboard, with machine guns bound to left click and cannons and additional guns bound to spacebar.

There is an Options in the Settings but i dont use it, i fire all Guns and Rifle Caliber together because i dont have a Gaming mouse only a Cheap one with 2 Keys/Buttons plus the Mousewheel

I mean experience plays a part, but generally it’s situational awareness, did he just dive from the higher altitude? Did he zoom climb to get to this altitude, is he moving away from you if you are chasing him or is he getting closer? All of these questions need to be taken into consideration when going into a confrontation. A basic rule of thumb is, if you are going into a dogfight with a superior plane and lower energy, try and force a head-on. If you are unsure going into a confrontation, try and climb away from them, if they start catching up, they have more energy and you need to dive, if you start losing them, you can try to use your superior energy

It's like a normal roll, except you pitch up and rudder at the very start. It might take some counter-roll to stop it once it gets going.

Boom-and-Zoom is a very offensive tactic based around abusing one's energy advantage. If you can't get the advantage, you'll have to use a different energy fighting style. Different aircraft climb in different manners, and use different styles to defend against a more energetic enemy. Which aircraft are you having trouble with?

@@Renta352 I have the same problem as Oliver and I mostly use mid-late generation Bf-109s like the G6-trop etc. How do we go about dealing with this situation?

@@louenn9899 Most aircraft are competent in multiple energy fighting styles, and the Bf.109G is no exception. It's a hybrid Boom-and-Zoomer/Hit-and-Runner. You can see some examples of defensive HnR in a Bf.109G in my Boom-and-Zoom video. If you want more information on the topic, I will post a video on HnR soon.
