@Nybbl er true - the teams get smaller at higher tiers bc of lack of available players. I've had some fun 6 vs 6 battles in rank V jets.

I know that this is a 4yr old video but another tactic I have found that helps in a dog fight is to pull the Tom Cruise Top Gun move of hitting the brakes and letting the enemy flying right by you

Of course you can "fly like a pro" in arcade mode for arcade standards. You have different standards in arcade, realistic and simulator and of course there are different pro tips for every single mode. I don't understand the guys who say that there are no pro tips in arcade... Yes it is easier to be an ok player in arcade but there are techniques to make you a great player if you master them. Its not just point the mouse on one direction and shoot. Krebs, thx for the tips man it helped me a lot since i have good skills / knowledge about armored warfare but lacked those in plane fights.

exactly .. each mode is different and has different challenges ... iv tried them all and i simply find arcade harder and more of a challenge .. the number of enemys and respawns keeps it frantic and fun .. and you really need to watch from every angle all the time .. simply saying its for noobs is kinda dumb iv seen many youtubers go back to arcade after playing RB for months and say in there stream omg this shit is hard ... they have to get used to it again .. why ?? ... because its freaking crazy fast and furious and everything works a little different ...

For pilots who are in 2020 onwards, after clicking the control setup wizard, click on "keyboard and mouse only (advanced)" not "keyboard and mouse only (simple)"; the controls in advanced are the ones shown in this video. Happy air battles! :)

This is great and all but my tactical maneuver that has served me well is to fly in a straight line. Your enemy will be confused (hopefully) and will not shoot you down giving you the chance to get the kill. Short. Sweet. Simple.

i usually use the flaps with the bv bomber. you can actually keep it into the air even when 80% of your wings are destroyed

The best way to turn is to use the Immelmann. You just loop up and level out with the elevators and rudder on your new heading. Just turning horizontally is going to get you slow which will also get you killed.

The Immelmann turn is a great maneuver only if you've got energy to spare during ACM. It happens to be my namesake because I may or may not be known to miss a few targets on a bombing run.

@@immelmannace4067 Indeed, and you have to have a plane that can loop, the P-47 for example is not a good plane to try loops in. I did once win a fight by dropping landing flaps and using all the wep I had but it doesn't work if you have more than one enemy...

In ground rb, hostile planes don’t have name tags. So if you’re like me, and can’t track them with your eyes for the life of you, use your headphones. And if you’re in a fighter with bombs, and you need to clear the skies first, drop them and engage flaps. Also, especially if you’re in something like a 109, try and have an energy advantage. Also if you’re in danger, you can fly over spaa to bait them, or fly back to the air strip if you’re in a log of trouble.

When I was new to wt about 1.5 years ago the other video you uploaded ages ago about pulling good manoeuvres was really helpful, too bad arcade got boring and too easy so I had to start playing rb where flying and fighting against other players is more of a.. challenge :p Also, those are good manoevres but some of them will only work in 1v1s and not full arcade battles because if you would turn for that long either your teammate or tons of other enemies would dive onto you in no time :p

I transferred the keys from a computer's keyboard to a stand-alone 10 key pad. That way I do not have to mess with the computer layout. The 10 key pad and mouse are closer to me on the table. I found this arrangement more "ergonomic" than having one hand stretched out over a computer's keys, and the other hand moving the mouse.

The technique you used of using ups and downs and yawing to get even more inside your turn is called yoyo (there is inside yoyo and outside yoyo) its an official thecnique used by fighter pilots

The duel at the end is why I'll probably stop playing while I haven't wasted too much time in this game. It's all tasty and good when you shoot 3-4 AIs in a row, but when every duel becomes a dogfight like this one - I just give up and fly straight, it's fucking boring.

I find the Hurricane IIb is best plane to outmaneuver other planes. Ive outmaneuvered biplanes and I-16 type 27 multiple times depending on how good your flying.

The arcade mode turned more realistic with the last update which is nice, the game is more fun that way ^^, but bombing from high altitude turned very hard.

Ok, I have a question about wep. When you turn the wep on isn't that basically putting the engine into overdrive? Doesn't wep just heat up your oil and water and when those get too hot your engine stops?
