Nice work. The community is always so obsessed with altitude. Being 700m above or below someone and 200kmh faster is far easier to work with than trying to BnZ a defensive fighter from 3k. Just get fast!

I realised that today in my bf109 and to some extent my p40. I did better when I only had a marginal altitude advantage than like 3k metres as I couldn't even effectively translate that altitude into speed as I'd be going like 250kmh and some guy would zoom climb from 1k below me and kill me because I had no speed. As soon as I realised this I got a 5 kill game in a bf109 and a 3 kill in a p40.speed is everything.

Thx green fury, I am so pissed at all these American pilots who just try to headon me in my 109s and somehow get me because a 50 cal hit is equivalent to a 30mm hit. Hopefully, your tricks will help me deal with those guys and destroy them :D

Looks Hella useful, now the only problem is doing one of these properly when playing on PS4 Edit: pretty sure I pulled off a semi perfect merge on another fighter, a P-40F I believe, I was in a BF 109 but I didn't give him time to breathe by climbing, (most people seem to be smart and don't chase me) I just put on landing flaps and turned onto his six before he knew what the hell was going on, killed him pretty quick after since I caught him mid turn and all his vitals were exposed Edit 2: tried to pull of a merge again, did it perfectly on a P-47, dodged the head-on and started climbing while the 47 tried to turn in on me and chase, but couldn't do it, I would've been able to kill it but another P-47, which, two seconds ago was about 5 km away suddenly pops up and shoots me down

The red parasite... perfect. So many enemies constantly wanting to head on, I just don't get it. Why take the chance? Great video and advice, thanks!

Wish more players would actually try and merge with you rather than just push desperate headons that end in them stalled out, good fights always start with a good merge.

Fun dogfights are the ones where you merge with someone without AA interference and the high stakes you have because it depends on you if a few poor teammates are goanna get bombed or not

What controls do you use for those maneuvers at 0:41? With keys it's kinda clunky and the mouse is not that responsive in such an angle. You combine them or? This is the problem i have. I have to press like two keys to control the plane and one more to hold in order to follow the marked enemy and watching you, it seems so easy. Am i doing something wrong here?

The definition of your play style is “work smarter not harder”. A lot of other guys are eager to get into a reverse scissor or turn battle.

I was recently "called out" in a lobby for only using energy fighting tactics to kill 190s and other turn fighters. All of them followed me through my manuvers. If they pitched down and ran i'd just be wasting my time at high altitude. Not to mention i'm flying a p-47...sure ill totally turn fight you. Not like your plane was made for turn fighting and mine was made for boom and zoom. You're literally mad just because i know the importance of keeping my speed over 500 kph. Or another great idea...don't zoom climb 1.5 kilometers to get a p-47

had the same thing happen to me twice today in a ta 152. one time i got tailed by a mark 9 and a f8f to 10km alt. they had no freaking chance and i got chance after chance but didnt take it because im still new to this plane. then a p47 tried a headon. 1.3km out i send a burst at him and him went boom. the other guys tailing me watched helpless in shock and the murican broke off asap. the other time i was tailed by a p47 a MARK 24 SPITFIRE!!!!!! and a f4u. i wasnt high enough barely at 8k and did two merges. then the f4u got too close to me at 9k when i was about to overpower them and i had to merge aggain wich gave the mk24 the opportunity too close the gap and secure the kill. still took the effort of 3people and 2of those more than 5 mins to grind me down. the f4u coming so close was a bluff btw....... when i took off landing flaps after my yoyo i saw him stall out and i was like.... fuck i gained seperation on the mark 24 and i threw it away for what? then i had only 1km of distance to play with and i got fucked up. still.... i mean a mark 24 wtf. im still a noob and barely scratching the surface of energy fighting that thing is ridic. when it can even fight one of those later spits

When your plane is about to stall, you can use your landing flaps to give your plane a bit more lift and some more maneuverability so you can stay out of your enemy's gunsights

The landing flaps allow you to make a more controlled and tighter turn when you are dropping toward their 6 after they stall. then when you are about to start falling straight down from such a sharp turn, you put on the takeoff flaps to get more lift when you are tring to get upright again behind them.

can someone explain to me why everyone is aware of these tactics in tier 2-3? I see you 100 lv people dominating low tiers because you want to dog fight and jets don't deliver. I came here just to survive and I simply couldn't apply any of your tactics to 109 f4. a p63 was doing exactly your merge and climb and outclimbed me. how bf 109 is a better climber? are you using the same 109 in every video? if so then are these still general 109 tactics. also could you explain why I have to paint the enemy plane just to critic it while a touch of your bullets takes the pilot or the wing off?

Hey Green Fury, great video I've watched these videos a few times this isn't my first time watching it but as I play WT more and more I come back to these types of videos like you and Defyn make, videos with instructions about strategy and they are still valuable and still have stuff that I learn from them when I rewatch them.

Does this tactic leave you vulnerable if your enemy has roughly the same energy as you and decides to conserve all of it but flying straight through the merge, then gradually turns around to come back for you when you've lost some of your energy by turning?

say the enemy does have the same amount of energy and hes got the same tactic, what you do is, fly towards him and fly straight, and when he turns to chase you down, he will loose energy (speed) what you do is, fly straight get as much speed as you can, than high Yoyo and Merge once again using your higher energy state later on the video what i showed you is how to deal with it, when you guys are both caught in a merge.

I think the best thing to do, if you are unsure, is to dive down and make him overshoot

HOW TO AIM BETTER IN RB WITH DIFFERENT AIRCRAFT?plz make a video on this topic,say you have russian fighters with nose mounted guns and usa or british have wing mounted guns so is it different to aim with them?and maybe brief us about the convergence distance and different types of bullets etc

Super good tactics again! I always manage to screw this up, especially against Russian planes, and end up with them able to climb to get me. I did manage a very good merge against a 190 in my P-63, he was above me and I managed reverse it but he disengaged and got to his airfield in ground RB before I could secure the kill, but, since he wasn't around to defend them, I was able to introduce his team's two Hs-129s to my 37mm before he took off again =P

I do the same thing but I bet more in the psychological part of the ennemy (hoping that he is not disciplined with his plane), so if a plane is tailing me and I have enough energy I do a big climb at 90° hoping that my ennemy will do the same thing and I keep watching him and wating that he stall before me and then the best conditions for boom and zoom are present. Risky maneuver but kinda funny if it's well done.

What should I do if the enemy is coming at me head-on while my speed is low or if I have less energy than them? I seem to be able to do this when my speed is 400 kph or above but under my plane usually stalls out and if the enemy has a higher energy state they will eventually catch and kill me.

In simple terms, flaps are control surfaces that extend or retract to generate more lift. They tighten your turning circle and allow you to stall out later at lower speeds. However, they also generate more drag and slow your plane quicker. On bigger planes, flaps can assist your plane with take off on shorter runways by generating lift to get your wheels off the ground.
