In this video, I flew with wingman Dorf to show why the P47 D-25 is underappreciated in the aerial combat role. This plane does not climb as well as the others for it's br, but once you go to 3k meters or higher, it just really starts performing wonderfully. This is attributable to the turbocharger system, which is engineered to pump more air at lower altitudes, to maintain the engine output. It's also the reason it's so massive and heavy; the duct work used to create this system needed a huge amount of space in addition to its 8 50 cal mgs. The best part is also that I finally manage to hit planes this time.
