This is a remake of a guide I made a couple of years ago. Several requests were made to put out an updated one and I hope it is of use to anybody who may be looking for advice on making potential purchases in War Thunder. This guide is made from a Realistic Battles player point of view and may not be the greatest for an arcade or simulator player. This guide will only cover Russian, British, and Japanese Tanks currently for sale.

One last thing. I'm in tier 2 American tanks moving to tier three, is it normal for me to want to delete my account? Do you have any tips or notes of experience to help with the transition. Anything you have will be immensely appreciated

the KV-1b 756(r) was my first premium i bought in war thunder. as a new player i grinded all the german line with it. noob friendly and well performing at its tier, no matter what ISs and M6A1s you throw at it, it makes short work of them, no problem! word of advice: don´t take your armor for granted! always go at an angle and never show too much of your sides, ammo racks are there and it hurts big time facing russian 85s...

Laurence Chapman Wrong. It has the best armor of all the tier 1 heavy premiums and has the best acceleration and hill climbing ability. I am able to do very well in this tank and it is one of my favorites.

The T-126 is OP as hell idk what you're talking about. Literally invincible from the front when angled slightly, and the turret mantlet is trolly as hell.

I LOVE the British Thunderbolt. I got it on a test drive from the war bonds and I fell in love with it. I dunno why but I love the sound of that Vickers machine gun.

Bo you forgot to mention heavy tank no.6 has an ammo rack bug for a LONG time whatever amount of ammo you take doesnt matter you always carry 89 rounds and whenever someone looks at you funny you blow up.

The KV-1B was probably the first premium(and still the only) I bought that was more than 500 eagles and I LOVE it. Like they said, merging the best of two worlds.

You can buy the British Achilles from steam as well even though the bundle is not available in game. I recommend it. It's tier 3 with decent front plate armor and a great gun. Only drawback is that the turret slews very slow.

The gun although has only solid shot, but when against Russian it is very effective , aim for the hull of kv's and easily go through anywhere on t34s, the gun breach could absorb many shells, try to find some place that you could hide your hull and expose only little part of your turret, basically enemy has no way to kill you. If they could only hit your turret front armor

19:18 the only polish vehicle in game. I think there defineatly should be WAY more polish tanks and planes. Sweden has a tech tree while poland has only 1 vehicle

I picked up a KV-122 (before i even had anything to support it in a lineup) but even then it was a blast to liquify things on the battlefield 😂😂

The Chi-Ha 120mm is that it is missing a bunch of ammo options. Multiple APHE and HEAT shells. So if you do count on these shells eventually being added (I am not holding my breath anymore), I would call it a 5 squirrel rating.

I love that kv122 tank. Ok you have zero to No armour But that gun takes care of business pretty good IMO. Pretty expensive tho with the 4000plus eagles.

the ASU 57 was that way with me, what you said about the American "tank"... only art. would hit across the map (LITERALLY) and hit the armor and would be a "Hull break" couldn't play that thing.

I was incredibly exited for the T114, play the hell out of it. I do want to dispute one thing you said though Bo. I rarely have a problem killing sloped armor. The T114 slaps right through the front of King Tigers and IS6's without any problem from my experience, (It hardly ever kills IS6's, it just explodes and the driver eats all the shrapnel).

I have had panthers eate the shells quite a bit unless it is a direct mantlet hit. King tigers its kinda 50/50 for me if it works.

The shell type that t114 could fire is kind of tricky, the post pan effect is about 50/50, even for the side shot without hitting the ammo, basically you have 50% chance to do little or no damage, still you could have one shot. Same as frontally engaging enemy especially KT, I found that some times my shell hit the upper front plate of KT and it is only a hit...... And still 50/50 chance for damage effective. In addition the gun is hard to aim for long distance ( personally I don't have that problem bec I usually use it do close up engagement)

It's just such a pitty you didn't emphasize the point that buying high-tier premiums is CATASTROPHIC for beginners. So many noobs buying the IS-6 result in ruining their development in pretty every aspect of the game: tactics, game-strategy, when to fire and which place to place their tank. Players that didn't reach at least the 4th rank who rush to buy high-tier premiums simply ruin their warthundergame.

Bo I presume the T114 has the crew replenishment modification for arcade battles (In arcade if you only have 1 more crew left the crew replenishment will go active wherever you are on the map)

I've never played the T-126, but I can't kill those things for the life of me, at least, not in my Matilda. Plus, it's still fast and that gun is potent. I'd have given it a 4, at least, based on its statistics. But, as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

The M4A2 does have a stabiliser for it's gun and if i remember right the T-34-85 does not.

I think you're sometimes a little generous with the squirrels. For example, you game the BM-8-24 two squirrels when it is a rank one vehicle that is quite bad, very situational, requires a bit of skill, and most of all is very expensive. I mean, if that is worth two then what could possibly be worth one.

Fair enough. I gave it two because I use it to round out a lineup and have had mild success with it... There is no way I would use it as a primary but the 3rd or 4th spawn... maybe for fun... but not for the price tag like you mentioned.

T-126 is a 4 at least, the BM-8 and T-35 are 1 only. ZUT is 2 at maximum, probably a 1 too. SMK is a 4, T-34 57 late probably more a 3 than a 4. The KV-122 might deserve a 4, it's not a great tank but much cheaper than most other T4 Premiums. The T-34/85E mesh will help with rockets btw. You will see Tiger II. Hs though which you can't frontally penetrate... The T-44/122 is a better buy than the T-34/100 IMAO. SU-122P would be a 2.

Well the SU-100Y does have a 130 Navel cannon on it, so, just wait until mix battles for Land, Air and Sea become a thing. SU-100Y will rule them all

You say that the T-34-100 frontal armor is lacking, but I bounced a King Tiger 88 off it at 50 meters. No angling or funky angles. He was driving straight at me and it bounced. (I was in the King Tiger)

I disagree with the BM-8-24. I can kill most top tier tanks with it, with their stupidly thin armor. I can also bounce rockets into the chassis of the Maus if I aim properly. 4 squirrels due to expense.

The object 120 bloody annoys me as a tank. Even the IS6 I can pen with my T34, or bounce if I get him to make mistakes. But I'd never think that the Object could take 2 120mm shots to its turret and survive. Shits un armoured sure but it can slug out.

Purchased mine after getting a discount from battle award wheel. It still had a decal then. I don't know how it is now. Decal is still in my list under soviet tank ones but i have seen some people coplain that they did not get it or could not find it in decal browser :(

Do you know how long it has been when you got the discount for it? The only information I find are posts or videos from more than 6 months ago. They might have changed it back then. If you might have purchased it within the last half year, then chances are that it's hopefully still included.

Did Ho-Ri get a nerf? If yes, is it still worth it? What planes should I go for when making a japanese lineup tier for tier (both premium and non-premium)? After this video I will definitely get the Chi-nu II since I am currently starting to grind the Japanese. Maybe I should wait for the Gaijin birthday sale.

Techpriest Ho-Ri has only received reload buffs since release. It is a very potent tank as well as the Chi-Nu II.
