If i am not mistaken the angling technique discussed in the "Tigerfibel" was actually practiced by the tank crews in real life. Maybe depending on the circumstances of the engagement (especially range) it was not deemed necessary in every case. The expected penetration ability of enemy equipment relative to the range is also disclosed in the "Tigerfibel" which also states that the crew must take care of the vehicle as it was the pinacle of german tank technology and is not indestructible and also needs some love in the form of maintenance.

Fun fact: 75mm Shermans can actually pen the frontal plate of a Tiger 1, I learned that the hard way

Yes it can. But if angled, you drop the chances of being penetrated by the 75mm rounds. (don't ask me what percentage though lol)

The Tiger in WT is what I like to call a "noob-trap". As it's often something that people who like Germany in ww2 a lot will grind towards to get as fast as possible. You will often see Tiger players were you wonder if they turned their monitor off while playing. They also seem to struggle once they face something the cannon cannot obviously kill from any angle, like a Sherman Jumbo. The Tiger can be really scary in the hands of a good player who can abuse its strengths, an angled or hulled-down Tiger that sits in a hard to flank area. Can be almost impossible to kill without CAS. But I don't condone that, because CAS is cringe.

I agree, most newer players dont understand how the Tiger works once they unlock it. But this is why I love to make this content. Perhaps you will be facing more difficult opposition in the near future 😉

@@LordCommissarDrac I was once a Tiger 1 player who appreciated the Vehicle and its history, unfortunately I wasnt very knowledgeable of how it was employed on the Battlefield, so I started out being killed from flanking fire and close range upfront, fortunately for me unlike Tiger crews in real life, I can easily replace my Tiger with a new one and can respawn and I can easily rack up experience on what works and not, so my K/D went from 1:1 to 7:1 in my Tiger 1 on most games, and had a steady 4:1 K/D respectively.

@@LordCommissarDrac This is after figuring out how to fire on the move, figuring out the trajectory of my rounds to the minute detail from any elevation, instinctually remembering the Terrain on most maps on my BR, and Intimidation tactics goading the opposing players into taking bad shots or even fire too early completely missing me. Tigerphobia was a real thing and funnily enough can be implemented in game..

Very good video. Couple of mistakes at: 2:11 7.5cm, not 75cm 3:14 10.5cm 4:07 You probably meant Type 100 (Tiger), as the Leopard only entered development in the late 1950s.

On occasion I might get the cm v mm parts wrong. However around the Type 100 - (Sd. Kfz. 181): The History of the Porsche Typ 100 and 101 Also Known as the Leopard and Tiger (P).

@@HighPingHero Now I am actually curious, where you found that. This states, that it took inspiration from the VK 30.02, which we of course see ingame, but also in turn took inspiration from the soviet t34. I've always seen the 30.01p referenced as Tiger P and aside from that, the hull also looks more like a longer tiger hull, than that of the VK Leo.

The reasons Russian tanks are so OP ingame is because the gameplay being pretty minimal (driving, firing, repairing).If they added differences in gear shifting time, random engine breakdowns and other unreliabilities, they would be much worse off. The quantity over quality mentality of the Russian military cost them individual tanks but overwhelmed enemy forces. They are not fake. They just conveniently miss the parts that made them bad.

If you get to topish tier with air and ground vehicles in at least 4 nations you know enough to understand that there are battles taking place overhead that will determine whether your team wins or loses. And please be my guest...go play CAS at high tier if you have the planes or choppers......SPAA have 10 -15 km range

A badly written video. It spends a lot of time talking about the predecessor tanks that led to the Tiger. They're not really relevant and we would only expect to hear THAT section if there was a lot of material LATER about the Tiger itself. But there isn't. We get the first engagement at Leningrad, which frankly does not matter at all. There were thousands of other Tiger battles. Why go into detail about one of them? We deserve an overview of all the campaigns that had Tigers in them, but the narrator literally stops talking about Tiger history after its first day of service! He switches to the "late" Tiger and tells us how it's different to earlier ones. Excuse me, we haven't HEARD about the earlier ones. You skipped over sixteen months! That switch from 1942 to 1944, from history to technical, is really jarring. It's like a cut-and-paste by a kid trying to write an essay by grabbing text off web pages.

Because this is a video that compares history to its game counterpart. Its not a history Essay. If you want a fully comprehensive breakdown of the history of a tank, you'll do better watching videos from channels like Cone of Arc.

@@LordCommissarDrac I didn't SAY that. And I don't expect it. It's possible to fit a complete Tiger history into 5 minutes, or into 1 minute, or into 30 seconds. You simply need to compress it to fit. But THIS video maker took their block of time (that they chose for themselves) and filled it with coverage of ONE day's events. I wasn't in the room when they did that, but I think I know why: they cut-and-pasted somebody else's work. It's easier than studying and thinking.
