Agreed, I wish enduring confrontation became the main mode of top tier and that Gaijin added more objectives to it and proper ticket punishment... The current meta punishes interceptors and Interdictors....you are either a fighter player or you don't get to have fun.
Enduring confrontation mode with realistic battles mechanics would be so dope. Sure some things would need to be changed about EC but that would actually make more sense than 32 players getting dropped into a map and clusterfucking in a single furball ending the game in 3 minutes. The whole gameplay of top tier AirRB is fucked because you're in a super fast jet, trying to manage your radar, weaponry, CMs, speed, not ripping wings all of this with half your keyboard worth of binds all while being in a clusterfuck with 16 enemies on you. Just not possible
Here's what top tier needs: 1) It's too easy to run around spamming top missiles not caring about anything as if it was call of duty TDM. To fix that increase the neuron activation needed to get kills with IR missiles by nerfing them. Nerf the ease of getting locks or macking launch failures a thing and don't upgrade too much IRCCMS in the future even if it means being unhistorical Playable gameplay>Accuracy 2) A DRASTICALLY higher reward for winning rather than losing: this will make everyone DO PRODUCTIVE stuff to really contribute to the win. People now don't care about the goal, they just get in there like bots. 3) As Univers said we need MISSIONS to spice things up that could be intruduced with new game modes 4) MORE MAPS: Every game feels like the same with these few maps we have. 5)Multiple airfields zones of interest to make map positioning more interesting 6)Restore radar missiles to their old performance because they require MUCH more neuron activation to get and hold a lock instead of firing and forgetting like the IR ones. 7) 10 size matches instead of 16 No less no more, that'd be the perfect size 8) BR DECOMPRESSION BROOOOO 9) New planes, top tier is now filled at 70% by F-16s and it's boring as fuk
1. They need to remove the ability to be immune to radar missiles by being low. This is the main issue that makes these giant fur balls at top tier. Everyone flies low and then only IR missiles are effective so everyone has to go in for the knife fight. If you don't, you risk getting zero kills and wasting a match. 2. They need to increase map size by a lot. Planes need to be able to climb high and gain a lot of speed well before firing off BVR missiles so that actual tactics can be used. Right now if you climb, the best you can do is mach 1 at 30k feet. Which is not enough for proper BVR. 3. They need to add fox 3's so that people have effective radar missiles. If they do this, we will see the meta drastically change and fight will become slower and more deliberate with longer range engagements at high altitude. People will be "fencing" with missiles and then the fights would evolve into dogfights but not with massive furballs.
I don't even know what you want. Is it realism in how the fights are conducted? Because SARH missiles were pretty shit at lower altitude. R27ER couldn't really be used under 3km, for example. So this idea goes right against the realistic part of the game. The other idea being you want to have a more enjoyable and less realistic gameplay. What you wrote also goes right against that. This is a videogame. Why prolong the time to engage by just having bigger maps? Absolutely no sense in this. Moreover, good luck dodging any amount of radar missiles when they are immune to the ground. You could notch and chaff, but how do you do that with more than 1 guy? This is not a sandbox game. You will not be the one railing the enemy. You will be the one getting railed. Across the map. With little counterplay, because you got launched at by 2 people and can only really defend against one at a time. In conclusion, what a terrible opinion to have.
@@TONY-2613 Radar missiles are never dodged by skimming the ground irl. In real life, missiles are dodged kinematically. Using your own speed and turning away, diving etc. You defeat the missile's energy. This creates 2 sides of fighters that joust with missiles, trying to get closer, while not getting killed. Just look up any BVR tactics my friend, watch some DCS videos or something. I guess you like 3 min games where everyone just spams missiles in a furball and it's just rng essentially. You clearly are better suited for arcade.
@@jorje58965 you are completely wrong, IRL flying low is used to avoid detection by both search radars, and also used to prevent radar guided missiles from getting a good launch and diving is one of the ways to defeat a missile launched at you when you are at altitude
How to make top tier/jet gameplay better: 1) Make it easier to kinematically dodge/chaff radar missiles so players can use the 3D space of maps instead of mowing lawn. 2) Remove enemy nametags and markers/minimap so you have to use your eyes/brain/RWR/Radar to track bogies. 3) Give every player one free Blind Hunt per game to find the bastard that will inevitably run and hide.
@@opelwintersport There is no Instructor and you can't use mouse aim in sim battle and you are locked in cockpit view. Thats a massive difference. I didn't say remove all nametags; just enemies so there isn't more friendly fire.

Haven't played War Thunder since 16v16 was introduced. I believe one of the reasons Gaijin did it was to "normalize" different skill levels between players. With the old 10v10 yuo could actually make some tactical choices. You could pay attetion to one opponent and another. The amount of missiles per match was low and every kill you got was actually significant. With 16v16, you are basically gambling with everything you do. Whether or not the opponent flares is 50/50. You nerver know if there's someone targeting you, ready to Fox-2 your ass back to the hangar. I have feeling this was made so that the newbs who purchase their way to top tier don't feel as bad when they get clapped by someone who played props for most of their time playing this game.

I’ve got an idea for top tier air RB. Teams become 8v8, maximum of three ground attack aircraft per team. NATO vs. Warsaw but some minor NATO nations can be interchangeable on either side. Maps are still EC but a bit bigger. Fox-3’s are all in the game. Each side has three spawnable airfields to spread out the fight. Blind hunt is gone- instead, each team gets an AWACS in a holding pattern above each side’s center airfield. Can be used to briefly “Ping” enemy player’s red player names for a few seconds, and can be used again after a cooldown of like 10 min or so (or however long so that it isn’t just spammed lol) The AWACS can be shot down for an RP/SL reward and denies the other side AWACS. There will be two types of bomb bases on each side. Three forward bases with mediocre air defense systems (nothing too tough, this allows people with dumb bombs to ‘farm’ without seeing crazy SPAA). Behind them, more defended bases that have more modern SPAA systems for Defence, and would hail an even bigger RP/SL reward. This would most likely require longer range air to ground ordinance to destroy, giving LGB’s and other more advanced guided munitions a purpose. Then there’s general cycling objectives like cruise missile intercepts, ground forces support, etc. The overall match time and ticket count is increased to accommodate all changes to make the match last as long as necessary for a good game (but there would still be a limit- wouldn’t last too long to become boring). Maps with room for carriers will have two airfields and one carrier fleet. The USS Forrestal, Baku, and the British one will have CIWS Defence systems to prevent close flying ships from using rockets or dumb bombs. Escort ships will have normal AAA. Their destruction will hail a large SL/RP reward and deny the enemy an “airfield”. Airfields can have their runways destroyed (health bar) but will have the best SPAA defending them (TOR, ADATS, etc) Looking at the map will tell you the general engagement ranges and locations of enemy ai SPAA systems via a semi transparent red circle around airfields, carriers, bases etc. potentially, we can possibly have midair refueling aircraft (can be intercepted for SL/RP reward) to keep people in the air and extend sorties without having them land, but it wouldn’t rearm the plane with ammo. Maybe even being able to respawn, but I’m not so sure about that myself. Lmk what ya’ll think
The current state of missiles is that they JUST DONT FUSE! Ive launched hundreds of sparrows in head ons after tye update and it just fly past the enemy without detonating.
One thing I would like to say that’s about low tier not top tier but is the same point you’re making. The matches end before any objective is completed, sure destroying bases might take away tickets but even if I get to the other side and am able to bomb, the match ends 2 planes in!
This needs to happen, first your right i agree top tiers need some simulation but still GRB, aim-3s but also major thing for this new mode, team cohersion and a complete overhaul of bombers. Why do bombers end in strike fighters more often than not, fuck it if you added a f-16 at least add a Stratofortress or even better a b-1, and its not like you would do it just for America every nation could get a piece of modern strategic bombers, plus decrease bombers stupid repair cost and give rp/sl to people escorting bomber's, that and realisic/historical matchmaking, why the fuck is an f-104 fighting an f-16 not time period correct not thr right countries not right anything. By doing that they basically completely killed the f-4e as it fights f-16s which are just better in every way. They shouldn't be fighting, nor should a f-5 or really anything before rank 7 and russia should face america. Really hope this catches on.
I have 2 videos regarding how to survive more and how to get more kills. As for aiming there's no need to make a video on its as its something you gradually just learn with muscle memory, I wish I could say there's a way to train your aim but truly you just have to keep doing it and learning lead.
People are already just flying low all the time, ARH’s wouldn’t change anything in that. The only thing itll do is just delaying the furball, and then using them like you’d use most SARH’s by slamming them into someone’s forehead up close. They just need to fix the monopulse seekers
Top tier haven't been fun since f86/ cl13 vs mig 15/ mig 17. Years ago. Reaslitic mode is shit and BVR combat in this mode is also shit. Doesn't matter the plane you fly, at the end all is going to be resolved in a dogfight. There is no room for interceptors, bombers or combined arms (helis and planes). Maps are too small and the BR is super compressed. The F104 at 9.3 is a crime for example. Years ago, WT was a game of skill. You progressed the tiers in the country and at the end you get a early jet and you were thrown in battle against top players. All that matter was you're skill flying this plane and your opponent. Now WT has a lot of RNG, depends a lot if you are downtiered or not and most players on your team are NOT top players (thanks to premium jets). Enduring in realistic mode was super fun BUT there's always that part of the community that's always moaning and complaining and crying so the mode was taken. EC could be the answer to BVR combat and Fox 3 missiles.
It is not just top tier lot of 9.0-9.3 is unplayble especialy those flareless jets... you have to play so passivly that you end up with no kills. Gaijins latest change with airspawn was beyond braindead. I would not be surprised if next major update is like F15 and thats it.
This can’t really be fixed by adding things. They should have never added these missiles in the first place. Most of us were like “top tier is not ready for these missiles yet” and “they need to implement x before adding x missiles.” And we were right. We should have been given F/A 18, an early Su-27, F-15A, etc. Not some missiles the game isn’t ready for. The fastest way to fix this is to remove the R-73 and AIM-9M until they fully flesh out top tier air realistic to make it enjoyable.
Missiles aren't the issue, people just prefer whining about the new thing rather than learning to play around it, that's been the case as long as the games been out

Its a game mode issue, its only team death match. Like you said we need a meta switch. My solution: Respawns for Air RB Reduce reward for pvp kills Triple reward for objects (bases and ai) Add more dynamic and strategic objvs Add end of round rewards to whole team for completion objectives, make it a pot that is split between teams so they have to fight for the larger share.
10:21 You have to treat the R-73's differently than you do with the Aim-9M's. They are not a missile you can just fire off willy nilly in the furball. You need to shoot them very close to the enemy in REAR ASPECT and they will MOSTLY never miss. Since they have the same IRCCM as the Magic as long as they are rear aspect within 1 mile or less the missile has a very good chance of killing the enemy even if they flare like crazy. The Aim-9M is much better in the furball and works as a third party clean up machine Hence why people keep getting killed by it and continue to say its OP. The Aim-9M is easy to flare as long as you spam flares in the direction opposite to where you are turning but people don't learn that, pop off one flare thinking it will fool the missile, and continue to die from it giving the F-16C's 5 kill games over and over. Main point is you need to fire the missile when you know it has a good chance of hitting
I thought it was really fun back when it was the F-4E vs MiG-21SMT, or the F-5E meta or even the MiG-23MLD. Also Korean War jets used to be playable, I could actually enjoy my F-86 or MiG-15 without getting clapped by all-aspect missiles
Don't act like Warthunder was something other at any time in the past, it has always been a slugfest because gayjin can't make ballanced game modes so the only thing somewhat playable is a slugfest. Missions will be unballanced af, considering Gayjins history.
mission modes a simulation. and adding aim 120 gonna make this situation worst. you literally talking about something that can loose tracking and regain it on anything in its path. you complain about aim9's but you can break aim9's all day. If anything they should of realeased the f-15 before the 16. And the f-16 is a literal dog fighter yeh staying low is cool but i found i last longer flying a little higher and not spamming my aim9's.

Eh, I don't even bother with top tier- super props and early jets is as far as I go. After that it's a game of who has the more advanced missile. Lack of counter measures for many planes is also a big issue.
Really gaijin just needs to get rid of mixed battles. It ruins immersion and makes the planes uninteresting bc they have nothing unique over their opponents since they are on both sides. I wouldn’t mind having uneven sized teams even for the sake of balance, as long as it’s not mixed.
Top tier is hell. The F-16C is killing everyone and everything at top tier. For the F-16C it beat’s everything in a dogfight aside’s the block 10, 15, and 20.
I’m surprised to hear people talk about dogfights at all anymore, I would think with how op Russian missiles are no one would have a chance to dogfight
If you slow the video down, he does airbrake twice (Second to last Cobra and last cobra). but the sheer speed i lose in the maneuver is so immaculate that not even an airbrake is enough

Game needs bigger maps,EWRs,dynamic campaign,more weaponry not only A-A but A-G most aircraft the way they are now is just an "empty case" for example the tornados...no MW1,no HARMs wich shouldve been already in game...annnd bigger maps again

I agree missile spam is cancer but with long range missile spam it is much easier to control your situation with the huge amount of time you'll have to avoid dying. Unlike with the short range Ir missiles we have no. its a hell hole TDM but could be an actual fun mission/operation game mode
The game just needs more game modes. I dont want to play team deathmatch over and over. I much prefer the large EC maps because 1v1 dogfights are more common. Althought EC offers "more" objectives, they have little significance toward winning or losing. I hope EC will become an option for Air RB in the events tab and be expanded upon/reworked in the near future. Also for the love of God space out and increase the battle ratings
It’s the game mode and BR compression that’s the issue not the missiles and aircraft added. Air RB feels more like arcade at top tier it either needs an overhaul or a new game mode added entirely, things like reducing the total players in a match to 10v10 or less and adding in more objectives or missions to the gameplay. Also we need more maps at top tier I’m so tired of playing the same 4-5 there is not enough variety right now
